----------------------------------- GSN GORN TALON-A "I'm going to my ready room." Tk'Lnn said to Tak and he motioned the Gorn Captain to follow him. The Nurses had to stay behind and they did not look quite happy with the developments. There faces seemed to say, 'And what do we tell, Lt. Neekera.' The two entered the Ready room and the Gorn Captain looked around the spacious room which had a large Oak desk, two furry chairs that looked as if they were overstuffed, a large window facing out in to space, and awards and citations hanging framed on the wooden walls. "Really nice, Senior Commander." "Thank you, Captain..." "Bkk'Nnn, sir." The Gorn Captain smiling sheepishly. "In the excitement to tell you my message I forgot totally about telling you who I am. Please forgive." "No problem. Please have a seat. What is this information you wanted to inform me of?" Bkk'Nnn had a seat and once seated started immediately in to his story. "The leak, sir. First of all I want to tell you that I am an agent for the Guardian's Errant. I was posing as a Captain of the freighter so I could get to the planet Tal Saurian IV to meet a counter-espionage agent that has seemed to stumble on something important. We only got half way when that Kzinti vessel attacked us. If you had not come to our rescue it would have probably decimated us." "Why would they attack you?" Tk'Lnn questioned shifting in his chair. "Wouldn't it be a risk to do it this far in Gorn Space. The Kzinti border is over 3 weeks away at Warp 5." "Because of this." Bkk'Nnn said handing Tk'Lnn a small data disc. Tk'Lnn took it in curiosity and plugged it in to his reader. A green schematic popped up and Tk'Lnn growled in anger. It was the detailed design of the Gorn weapon the Trident. It was classified. "Where did you get this?" "I blocked the transmission from reaching the Romulan Empire and the Kzinti Clans. They did not receive it. Then two hours later a Kzinti vessel attacked us." Tk'Lnn looked at the screen and then sat back with his armed crossed across his chest and said, "This is getting more serious then I thought. This is very high level information. Have you any ideas?" "A mole or a traitor." Was all Bkk'Nnn said. "I have also blocked transmission of designs of Federation starships. Most notably the Galaxy class and the Intrepid class." "How complete were the designs." "They were in their entiraty. The Romulans could have built one if they wanted too." "And you said it didn't get to them?" Tk'Lnn asked. Bkk'Nnn nodded. "Thank you for this information, Captain. I would like you to stay onboard. You may be of assitance." "Anything to help you, sir." Bk'Nnn said. The Gorn captain stood and saluted to Tk'lnn by placing his fist to his shoulder. "Fight for duty and honor, Senior Commander." "Same to you, Captain." The Gorn Officer left and Tk'Lnn stared at the schematic that still displayed on his screen. He flicked the veiwer of and then said, "Computer." The computer beeped in response. "Prepare to send two messages, Urgent." "Please state recipiants." The female voice responded. Tk'Lnn looked startled for a minute and then rememberd his ship had a Federation refit for computers; a gift from the Federation after their Rescue of the Romulan Princess. "The Gorn High command and Commodore Jacob Ryder, USS Atlantis." "Prepared." "Send schematics in Disc..." Tk'Lnn looked at the number. "...2 to command and inform them that the information is a high level leak. My recommendation is to start a search of all people that pretain to the Trident. That is all." "Message prepared and sent. Please state message from Commodore Ryder." "Record as follows." Tk'Lnn said sitting strait and facing his screen so it would record. ------------------------------- The medical bay was bright with the lights on and the many nurses under the command of Lieutenant Neekera were working busily at trying to get the medical bay back up to speed. Tk'Lnn had heard of her power problem and had immediately diverted power over for her. He saw the five foot feline standing over in a corner wearing a Gorn uniform. The two gold emblems on her collar glowed brightly showing her rank as Lieutenant. "Well, Lieutenant. Do you have enough power?" Tk'Lnn asked with a smile. "Yes, sir." Neekera said surprised at his approach. She had been studying the Logs on the Federation medicine that she had not heard his approach. "I was just looking over some things so I could catch up on the medical aspects of the galaxy." "Is there anything you need?" Neekera thought for a moment. "No, I don't think so." "Alright, if you need me I'll be on the bridge." Tk'Lnn said nodding and turning to leave. "Well, there is one thing." Neekera said smiling. "You haven't reported for your physical since our trip to Romulus." Tk'Lnn grimaced. He had totally forgotten about that. Now, he was in the medical bay. "Yes, I know. Pressing matters and such. We were in the heart of the Romulan Empire trying to get a defector out with out being shot to pieces. Sorry, I did not come then." "You're here now." She purred with a smile. "And you don't have any pressing matters." The Gorn Captain shook his head. "Sorry, can't help you now. I've got to get up to the bridge to moniter the meeting with the Federation vessel." Neekera crossed her arms. "Captain, that's 2 days away. Nothing is going to happen till then. Are you scared of doctors?" Tk'Lnn bristled and the question of being scared. He stood straiter. "I am not scared of you or any other doctors." "Then come on over here to the bio bed and prove it. I've got a battery of tests that you have avoided to catch up on." "How long is this going to take, I don't have all day." He muttered walking over to the table. "Years, if you keep avoiding me. Now, you just sit still and let me finish this." "No needles." Tk'Lnn warned. "Don't worry. No needles. If I needed to use one I wouldn't tell you it was coming any how." She chuckled making her whiskers bounce. Tk'Lnn muttered something under his breath and waited for Neekera to finish. -------------------------------------- GSN GORN TALON-A Tk'Lnn sat down on the bed as Neekera was getting her tricorder ready and the list of tests that he had avoided. He could not believe how many he had held up and some had to be done twice for the two periods of reporting that he had missed. 'Dumb government paperwork,' he thought as she was preparing a hypospray. Just as Neekera was closing in on him his commbadge buzzed. "Communications to Senior Commander." The voice said coming over. Tk'Lnn held up his hand to the doctor and tapped the badge. "Tk'Lnn here go ahead." "Sir, we have come in to visual range of Cestus III. A Federation vessel is in orbit around the planet." "On my way." He said jumping up from the bed. Neekera growled. "It was three days. What happened?" "I increased warp speed, cutting down the time." Tk'Lnn said trying not to smile. The look on the Lyran's face warned him that doing anything like he had planned this whole episode would get him killed. "I've got to report to the bridge." He said heading for the door. "Oh, how convenient." She said sarcastically. Tk'Lnn smiled and chuckled. "I know that your very cunning brain will think of another way of getting me down here and to the checkups." She made some sort of humph sound as she threw the hypospray down on the bio bed and went back to some other work purposefully ignoring him. Senior Commander Tk'Lnn made his way to the bridge through the polished green metal hallways and stepped in to the turbolift. It traveled for a minute and then opened up. Tk'Lnn walked up the slight ramp and on to the wrap around bridge. On the screen was the planet Cestus III and in orbit was the familiar saucer shape of a Federation vessel. The Gorn Captain went to his plush green chair and sat down. "Decrease to sublight speed, Lieutenant Vll'Rakk. Bring us in a synchronized orbit beside the USS Atlantis." "Aye, Aye, sir." Said the Gorn tapping out the instructions. "Shall I raise shields?" asked Bk'tar, who stood in to the right and behind him. "Negative, Senior Lieutenant. We will forgo that procedure." Bk'Tar cocked his head slightly. "Sir, it is standard Space Navy protocol that when coming near a vessel from another race no matter who they are you are to go to Defense Condition Three and bring the shields online." "Understood, Senior Lieutenant." Tk'Lnn said turning in his seat 180 degrees to face his officer. "We do that because of our races mistrust for everyone else. The Federation is our staunch ally and bringing our shields on could look like we do not trust them. Leave them down." "Aye, aye, sir." Bk'Tar said. Tk'Lnn still faced him. "Are you going to question every order, Senior Lieutenant?" Bk'Tar frowned. "I'm sorry, sir. I didn't mean it to sound like that. I was just, curious." The Senior Commander Smiled. "Understood." He spun back around and faced the view screen. "Lieutenant Vll'Rakk. Hail the USS Atlantis." "Hailing, sir." The answer came and with the sound ofone chime of the frequency being open the face of a human appeared on the screen. "This is Senior Commander Tk'Lnn Vss'Kov of the GSN Gorn Talon. We have arrived at the rendezvous sight. I hope we are not to late." Jacob Ryder heard the voice of the Gorn, through the universal translator, over the speakers on the bridge of the USS Atlantis. All seemed quiet for a moment on his ship, the suspense of the moment and the anticipation of their finally meeting overwhelming the usual side conversations between the many officers. Motioning to Lieutenant Raven Strongbow, the Chief Secomm Officer, he stood, awaiting the green light near the holomatrix to indicate that he was transmitting. When it lit, he paused for a brief moment, and then replied to the Gorn captain. "Senior Commander, This is the USS Atlantis of Starfleet. My name is Commodore Jacob Ryder. We would like to thank you for inviting us to your planets for this mission's start." Jacob paused for a moment, looking down. "Actually, you're not near to late, but in fact we arrived a few days early. I hope we're not intruding by our early arrival." "Not at all," the Gorn answered. Ryder couldn't tell the manner of the statement from the translator's relay, but it didn't sound like it was unpleasant. "At your convenience I would like to invite you and your first officer to the Talon for a banquet held in the Federation's honor," Tk'Lnn added, studying the man on his screen. He seemed to Tk'Lnn that he was quite at home in the captain's chair. The five gold pips, marking of a Commodore, gave the man the self-assurance that he saw. "We'd be," Ryder began, gulping in the brief pause in his words, "honored." Jacob tried not to roll his eyes. He had never been much for those formal outings, and his experience with foreign foods had been less than notable. "My communications officer will make the arrangements with your personnel." The Gorn captain nodded his consent, an almost universaly-recognized gesture of understanding and agreement. Ryder and the Tk'Lnn both saw this as the end of the communications, and each reached for their communications controls as Ryder prepared for his parting greeting. "Klish'sss'Har," Ryder began, difficultly, "Mek'Sss'Rss'Ch'Rr... Kaa." He had practiced it a couple times, and he had thought that he had gotten it down, but now as it was important, he already knew that he had screwed it up. Hopefully, the Gorn wouldn't take too much offense at it. As the communications line cut, he turned back to his command chair and sat down, most of his bridge crew staring at him after his gutteral words. "Get to work," Ryder snapped at them, half painfully and half playfully. When the Channel closed, Tk'Lnn turned to his first officer who was sitting in his executive officer's chair, which was placed a foot behind the captain, the Gorn way of showing that the captain was higher ranking then his first officer. "Well, Tak," he said, smiling as much as a Gorn would from the other ship's captain's horrible attempt at the Gorn language, "time for the dress uniform." Tak nodded, and Tk'Lnn sat back into his own chair, letting out a chuckle, but keeping it low. ---------------------------------- Mk'Nrr had finally piloted the Gorn Talon in to synchronized orbit around Cestus III and also beside the USS Atlantis. After that the Gorn had not have much to do. That was when he got a call from Laura, the diner owner, on Deck 12 asking him to come down and assist her for their were something she needed help with. He strode in to the large kitchen facility that Star base 684 had been so nice to install and saw the different staff of Laura's Diner rushing around filling pots, frying food, and measuring ingredients for the many choices her menu had. Laura herself was standing in the middle of the clamor directing each member of her staff to another job when they were free from the last. "You wanted to see me, Ms. Laura?" Mk'Nrr asked coming up to her and raising his voice over the din. "Yeah. I'm having trouble with the menu for the Banquet. The Senior Commander had asked me to make the banquet dinner for the guests coming over from that other ship...what's her name...?" Mk'Nrr smiled at her standing there tapping her foot impatiently as she vainly tried to remember the other ship's name. "USS Atlantis." Mk'Nrr helped. "Yes, that was it." She said with a smile. "Well, anyhow, the Senior Commander wanted a mix of Gorn dishes and earthian dishes so the Atlantis' captain and first officer would not have to suffer through the meal trying the Gorn meals." Laura crinkled up her face and shook her head vigorously. "yech, I have had some of your dishes that really tasted...different." "So, you want some dishes that can be eaten by them with as little of discomfort as possible." Mk'Nrr said looking at his short friend. "That's the situation. Can you help?" Mk'Nrr nodded. "First, I would suggest the Vss'Kss'Rrr. It is eatable by human standards without too much of a foreign taste. You'd better leave out the Tss'Naa thou." Laura cocked her head and said, "Why? I was thinking of ordering some to try another Gorn dish." Mk'Nrr laughed. "You would be in for a big surprise. Tss'Naa is a 2 inch fly that lives on or planet slightly roasted and dipped in a sugary syrup. They're the captain's favorite and by the look on your face; you wouldn't have enjoyed it." Laura was changing colors looking a little green and she placed her hand on her stomach. "Oh, why did you have to tell me?" she moaned. "Well, theirs Rr'Naa'Tss." "And that's?" she asked really worried that her stomach wasn't going to agree with the new recipe and that she would have to make a quick run to the rest room. "It's a pastry made out of dough and honey. It's in swirls of dough and the honey syrup is poured on top of it. We do like sugary things. " "That sounds a little better." She said cautiously. "But is their something that is really Gornish so I can place it on the menu so they have a choice. Some rare delicacy." "Cooked Vrr'Naa'Trr." "And that is?" she asked paling. "Fried Beetle." After he spoke he wished he had not. It only took a couple of seconds for him to help lead the woozy cook to the restroom and waiting beside the door he shook his head. "She asked." He muttered. {END OF LOG 4}
