Roderick Pierce was born to a good family on Earth and was the only son born. His father Brant was a family doctor in his area and slowly taught Roderick the business hoping he would settle down and not follow his dream of being a Star Fleet Doctor. He went to school for it all and graduated with a Ph.D. in medical science for his father, but unknown to him he had also graduated with a Science degree from a correspondence course.

His Father sent his son Roderick to Q�onos to be a liaison with his firm and to teach the Klingons about the human anatomy. That was where he met Leah Albright, another doctor working there for Star Fleet. Their whirlwind courtship was over in four months and they were secretly married by a Klingon captain named T�Chosa and he returned to Earth with his bride at the age of 18. His wife became pregnant early in their marriage and had a baby girl, which they named Olivia.

Three years into their marriage, an Orion Assassin named Shadow struck his home on Mars and killed his wife and baby daughter in a Fusion bomb explosion. In his grief he wanted to get revenge and joined up with a Gorn Confederation to search out and find Shadow. His abilities in both Medical and science looked like a good combination to the Gorn and with his training in a Gorn Special Forces unit he was sent to the GSN Gorn Talon.
