Festival International de Louisiane �Amis du Festival� Kickoff.

LAFAYETTE, La. � Have you been looking for a way to support your Festival International de Louisiane? Well, now you can! Festival International de Louisiane announces the launching of the Amis du Festival program on November 16, 2002 at the Festival International Fundraiser being held at the Blue Moon Saloon at 215 E. Convent St.

You can be an Ami(e) for $25 or a Grand(e) Ami(e) for $100. It�s a way to support Festival International to show how it�s truly a community-supported event and to help keep it free of charge for festivalgoers. By becoming a member of les Amis du Festival at the Ami(e) level you receive an Official Amis du Festival t-shirt and an Official Amis du Festival sticker. At the Grand(e) Ami(e) level you receive two (2) Official Amis du Festival t-shirts, two (2) Official Festival mugs and four (4) Amis du Festival stickers. Both levels of Amis du Festival receive a semi-annual newsletter also available via email to those who provide an email address.

Amis du Festival Kickoff and Fundraiser will begin at 2 p.m. with activities for children and go into the evening with local musicians. Children�s activities will include face painting as well as interactive activities with Andre Elder featuring the vocals of Marc� Lacouture. Local performer Mitch Reed will be on hand for storytelling. The children�s activities will end at 4pm.

Performers will continue into the evening featuring local musicians including Steve Riley, Dave Greely, Sam Broussard, Mitchell Reed, Josh Caffery, Jimmie Duhon, Marc Broussard with David Eagan & Guests, Rex Moreau, Corey & the Zydeco Excitement with special guest Terrence Simien & Friends, the Hard Heads and the Blue Runners closing the night out.

There is a $10 cover charge for those choosing not to participate in the Amis du Festival program.
