| The Launch Pad Kit Saab 372 |
| Specs Length: 39 inches Diameter: 2.6 inches Motors: D12-3, Aerotech E15-4, RMS F24-4 (24mm) Description A 1/2.66 scale model of the Swedish SAAB 372 IR guided Air to Air Missile. The proper missle never saw service. See Deepsky Rockets for more backgroung info. Tom's Advice I have only used this rocket on D's as I have not got an explosives license yet so this Review is only based upon the SAAB with D12-3 motors. Unless you have an explosives license I could not reccomend this rocket. When launched it will fly to about tree height before zooming across the sky horizontally. Because of this the 3 second delay tends to be to long but that is the shortest delay you can buy. The parachute cord the kit came with snapped at my first launch, and the parachute ripped at my forth. The third out of four launches was the only one I can really call a success because, although it didn't fly very high, it came down without breaking and fins. The fins are made of bolser wood and are therefore quite weak. Marks Out of 10 5 at present, because of the cheap parachute cord and parachute, and because of the low altitude. However, this mark only depends onD's and as I am soon getting my explosives license, it won't be long before I am putting it to the test with an E and an F.. |
