Introducing: Remington Andrew McDonald!!
Dawn went into see Dr.Childrey on June 19th because he was monitoring her pre-eclampsia. Her blood pressure was 153/90 so he decided her body could no longer safely continue the pregnancy and he recommended inducing her immediately. After saying bye to Ronnie (the dog) and telling Alice (Robert's mom) what was going on, they headed for the hospital. She was put in a hospital gown and hooked up to an IV right away to administer pitocin, to start labor, and magnesium for her blood pressure. Then, she fell asleep. They allowed her to labor until 10PM, but stopped for the night and decided to re-start the pitocin again at 4:30AM.

The next day, she slept until she was 6cm dialated, when she asked for pain meds. She wanted an all natural labor, but was advised against it because of her blood pressure and the possibility of a seizure if her body got too stressed. By 8cm, she begged for more. She stalled at 9cm and was given an hour before her doctor would perform an emergency c-section. Fifty minutes later she was ready to push and her cervix opened the last centimeter.

After an epidural, five pushes, and an episiotomy resulting ineight to ten stitches, Remington was born. Oh yeah! And after Dr.Childrey exclaimed, "Good Lord, that's a big baby" before Dawn pushed him out!! Thank God for epidurals!!
