stock PHOTOGRAPHY

please NOTE: some sites will require you to register in order to view comps (or larger sized images to try before you buy). Most of the sites that will ask you to register have pictures that make the time you spent in registration worth while. Registration should be free... I don't personally use any sites that ask me to pay to see their work.

• Hulton | Archive - excellent resource for vintage work, including historical and commercial photos and artwork. (a Getty company)
• Comstock Inc. - view and download comps online or order free CD-ROM or print catalog
• Ditto.com - mostly web images
• Getty Images - great supplier of photos, audio, and video stock
• Superstock.com - great unique images
• Google Image Search - Good when searching for specific names of celebrities.
• FreeFoto.com -
• 1StopStock.com - will search many stock companies at the same time for you, all from one window. (a few bugs come up when you try to register or view larger comps, but it found some images that I hadn't found when I went to the site myself)
