A Brief
Introduction to the Merriam Hills Neighborhood Group
For the past 210 years
Merriam has been an inviting place to live. It's safe, clean and
centrally located.. Its rich history, greenery, modern
conveniences and friendly atmosphere make it a neighborhood of choice.
Our goal as neighbors is to keep the Merriam Hills area growing
in that positive direction. We hope to be a voice for our
neighborhood on critical issues of safety, education, capital
improvements and legal matters. It's also our aim to serve as a
resource to neighbors in need by providing information on outside
funding and technical assistance. We want to be a collaborative
group that communicates with its residents regularly through a
newsletter and special events. As proud members of this
neighborhood, we will work tirelessly to build a livable, safe, clean
and economically viable community for all Merriam Hills neighbors.
A group of concerned neighbors began meeting in 1999. The Merriam Hills Neighborhood
Group was formally organized under by-laws on January 7, 2003.
Merriam Hills encompasses the Merriam portions of the Goodman Heights,
Hickory Hills, and Merriam View neighborhoods. All Merriam
residents who live north of Johnson Drive to 54th St. and east of
Antioch are eligible for membership.
