| This tempera painting is the main portion of the Cortona Altarpiece. It shows Mary, and an angel of the Lord telling her that she will give birth to Jesus, the Son of God. The altarpiece was created for the Church of San Domenico in Cortona, and was later moved to the church Gesu in Cortona which is now the Museo Diocesano. | ||||||||||||||||
