Frequently Asked Questions ![]() This page is really an afterthought... it's essentially my abbreviated replies to visitor's queries and comments. Query: The question most asked about this site is, "Why didn't you detail more about May's life before, and after, the Lost Weekend... after all, it is called: 'The May Pang Story'." Reply: The emailers are correct, the title does suggest the site is about the life of May Pang. The site intentionally only covers the Lost Weekend, it is not a biography... I set out only to highlight May's time with John Lennon for the interest of Beatles fans. May Pang's personal website (and Wikipedia) provide comprehensive rundowns of May Pang's entire life. Reply: After reading May's book, I felt that, compared to other aspects of Beatles history, the Lost Weekend was under reported and often misrepresented. Also, there was not a stand-alone website covering the Lost Weekend. Reply: None. I read May's book. Became intrigued. Did some research. Then I decided to create this website... all my references are clearly verifiable. And yeah, it became a tougher project than I initially thought it would be... at times I regretted starting it. Reply: Dunno. I was lent May's book 'Loving John' then I asked myself the very same question. Perhaps it's because Lennon never married May nor publicly announced their relationship while living with May... their relationship was mainly secretive. If you're into conspiracy theories, maybe it's coz some authors, and some people associated with Lennon, ie: Bob Gruen, Elliot Mintz and Yoko Ono dismiss portions of May's claims. Reply: How accurate is any Beatles publication? Many Beatles authors contradict one another. Even writers professing to be (or once were) associated with the Beatles are often in conflict. Even though I've endeavored to present the data on this site as fairly and as accurately as possible... it makes no excuses for essentially being a tribute to May Pang. Having said that, some emailers complained that sections were, "particularly harsh", and even "needlessly insensitive" toward May Pang. While other visitors considered the site "blindly biased" with one visitor even declaring the site to be "little more than a grovel-fest" to May. So yeah, maybe those extreme views indicate that my attempts to find the right balance might have been successful ... I hope so. |
