Buffy returns to Sunnydale after visiting her dad for the summer. Buffy is giving everyone the cold shoulder. Buffy doesn't think anyone should help her fight evil. Buffy thinks the world revolves around her. Geez, just how much did her Dad spoil her?
Some Assembly Required (September 22, 1997)
Giles finally decides to ask out Ms. Calendar. A demon is killing girls and taking random body parts. Coincidence? Actually it is.
School Hard (September 29, 1997)
Spike and Drusilla arrive in Sunnydale to kill the Slayer. Said Slayer has been forced into organizing parent-teacher night. That's okay because Spike will just go to the school and kill her. Can Buffy slay vamps, keep her Mom and the other parents out of the way and keep everyone from finding out about the whole "chosen one" thing?
Inca Mummy Girl (October 6, 1997)
An exchange student has arrived in Sunnydale. Wait, she has the hots for Xander? Must be some sort of demon.
Reptile Boy (October 13, 1997)
Buffy and Cordy learn why high schoolers shouldn't go to frat parties. That's right, all high school girls who go to those parties are sacrificed to giant snake creatures in return for lots of beer. Frats rule.
Halloween (October 27, 1997)
Everyone gets dressed for Halloween. Then everyone is turned into what they're dressed as. Hilarity ensues.
Lie to Me (November 3, 1997)
If a friend from sixth grade shows up years later for no apparent reason, he probably wants to hand you over to Spike in exchange for immortality. Too bad no one told about the whole "you die and a demon takes over your body" thing.
The Dark Age (November 10, 1997)
I have no recollection of this episode. I read a couple of reviews on it, but it just doesn't ring a bell. Oh well. Uh, this is about Giles past and a demon possession.
What's My Line? (Part 1) (November 17, 1997)
Hey, I remember this ep. Remember the one slayer dies, another one is called concept? Well, Buffy died in Prophecy Girl and another slayer was called. Yes, we get to meet that Slayer in this ep. No, her name is not Faith.
What's My Line? (Part 2) (November 24, 1997)
Angel's a vampire in peril and it's up to the Slayers to rescue him. Too bad Kendra the Vampire Slayer would rather kill Angel than save him. Meanwhile, the other Scoobies fight a bug guy. But the biggest news is that a hot chick is attracted to Xander, and she's NOT demonic!
Ted (December 8, 1997)
Jack Tripper is STILL single 20 years later. He's changed his name to Ted and is now dating Joyce Summers. Buffy gets a little suspicious of him and accidentally pushes down a flight of steps. Will Chrissie and Janet come visit Jack in the hospital? Does he owe Mr. Furley rent money? If you don't get these jokes, then well too bad for you.
Bad Eggs (January 12, 1998)
Did you ever have a school assignment in which you had to take care of an egg like it was a child? No? Well, neither did I. But Sunnydale high does and if the past is any indication, something will go horribly wrong.
Surprise (Part 1) (January 19, 1998)
Spike and Dru are putting together the baddest bad ass ever: Judge Judy. Angel and Buffy play naked Twister in his bed. Someone should have warned Buffy that Angel hates to lose.
Innocence (Part 2) (January 20, 1998)
Angel(us) got him some is moving on to paler and deader things. Giles finds out Ms. Calendar's reason for being in Sunnydale. Xander inadvertently stomps a mudhole into Willow's heart and walks it dry when Willow catches him making out with Cordelia. Oh, and that Judge guy is all assembled now. I'm guessing this won't turn out to be one of Buffy's favorite birthdays.
Phases (January 27, 1998)
Many episodes ago, a guy named Oz kept seeing this pretty little lady named Willow. This ep, Oz finally makes his move. Xander's not too happy about this. And a werewolf who's running amok in Sunnydale is being hunted by Elmer Fudd.
Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered (February 10, 1998)
One of my top 10 favorite episodes. Maybe I'll make a list of them somewhere on the site. Oh yeah, you're on this page as a guide to Season 2 episodes, not a top 10. Remember the episode of Saved by the Bell when Zack uses subliminal messages for some stupid reason (possibly to get a date with Kelly) but everyone in school finds out about and they all act like they're in love with him? Replace "Xander" with "Zack," change the reason (revenge on Cordelia) and remember that this is a Sunnydale. Then wonder what Bayside High would be like on top of a hellmouth. Screech the Vampire Slayer just doesn't has the same ring to it...
Passion (February 24, 1998)
Angelus starts stalking the female Scoobies. They retaliate by using a spell that uninvites him to their homes (and car). Angelus retaliates by leaving Giles a present...
Killed By Death (March 3, 1998)
I hate hospitals. Remember the Nightmares episode from last season? Well, apply the main theme to this ep, except this monster is real and is every kid's nightmare. Can a flu-ridden Buffy save the day?
I Only Have Eyes For You (April 28, 1998)
Two spirits who broke up and died many moons ago go into two people's bodies and react their deaths, in the process killing them. Angelus and Buffy are next on the list.
Go Fish (May 5, 1998)
Fish creatures are killing members of the swim team. Xander joins the team to find out what's going on while Buffy and the other Scoobies try to find out who and what is causing the creatures to attack.
Becoming (Part 1) (May 12, 1998)
Buffy wants Willow to restore Angelus' soul. Angelus would rather have the entire world swallowed into hell. I think there's a conflict of interest here.
Becoming (Part 2) (May 19, 1998)
Buffy has to team up with a hated foe to stop Angelus' plan to destroy the world. Apparently, not everyone evildoer in Sunnydale wants the world to end. Meanwhile, Willow works on the spell to turn Angelus back into Angel.
