Using Winzip (not pkunzip, because of the 8-digit-filename-convention), unzip the components of PMD11plV10.zip file into the directories outlined below.
The file PMD11plV10.zip will have two zipfiles in it. One owns the panel-files; the other the gauges. The Readme.htm (this file) and the .jpg-files can be stored anywhere. The instructions assume a 'clean' load. If you have a previous version of this MD-11 panel, you must remove all the previous panel-files.
Instructions for installing to Flight Simulator 98
1. Find the folder where you installed Microsoft Flight Simulator. The default is C:\PROGRAM FILES\MICROSOFT GAMES\FLIGHT SIMULATOR. In the steps below, this folder is referred to as [FLTSIM].
2. Search for your aircraft-subdirectory which you like to have this new panel. Assume you have named it MD11. The panel folder is: [FLTSIM]\Aircraft\MD11\Panel.
3. Delete all files in the [FLTSIM]\Aircraft\MD11\Panel folder.
4. Unzip panel.zip and extract all files (*.bmp and panel.cfg) in to the [FLTSIM]\Aircraft\MD11\Panel folder.
5. Unzip gauges.zip and extract all files (*.gau) into the [FLTSIM]\Gauges folder. If the file already exist you don't need to overwrite it.
6. Start Flight Simulator on the Aircraft Menu, click Select Aircraft.... Choose your altered plane en click OK. Your new panel is now ready to use!
My name is Paul Lemaire and for about 20 years (first on a Apple) I fly with Flight Simulator. Until FS98 I was only a user of this application but since a couple of years I became interested in more technical features .
Nowadays I have designed 8 panels. For every panel I look for a compromise between realistic, readable and (for me) made to build. In this case, I am a fan of Eric Ernst, a well know and in my vision the best (freeware) FS98-panel-designer. On first (and on second) site the panels looks like the real ones. I don't make the gauges by my own. First I don't have a (virtual) C++ compiler (I don't think it is difficult to do; I have seen samples from the SDK and as a (C-) programmer it looks rather easy to do; otherwise it will cost many hours of programming and debugging) and second on the Web there are so many made already (I did not rename de gauge-file. Gauges are objects, in principle made for more purposes/panels). I hope that this panel come really close to those from Eric.
Nearly all FS98-panelfunctions are in operation in this panel; so it is perfectly made for IFR
I start this project on January 1999. I finish this version on 21 February 1999. In April 1999 I release it on Internet
Version: 1.0 February 1999
Please let me know of any problems you encounter. I have done the work all by my own and so I can't check everything. I also welcome any other feedback and will try to answer all mail.

Eric Ernst: He let me see what really a beautiful and full functional panel is. His Saab 340B and his MD83 are in my vision the best freeware panels.
All the freeware gauge developers. Some of them did a terrific job.
Thomas Diderich: His enthusiasm for my panels and his friendly co-operation. He is the owner of the oldest (and greatest) Dutch FS Internet site. You will find there very nice Dutch aircraft's and scenery.
You can download the corresponding aircraft and more of my panels on 'The Dutch Flight Simulator Site': http://www.thomp.icom-web.com
