Sonnet Memory

So many roads of life I have taken
So many times I was mistaken
I'd hang my head in utter defeat
Realizing I was lost on the wrong street
The darkness would crowd around
My lonely tears falling to the sodden ground
But one day the clouds disappeared
The black night gone, a new day appeared
There on the horizon you stood in all your glory
So I ran towards you, a happy ending to my story
All that time I'd spent searching
All that love that'd left me wanting
Now I walk with you, the trail of beauty
Those broken roads behind us, only a memory.
