If I had just one wish,
In this entire lonely world,
I know where Id be
Id be lying
On a hill, far from light or care,
Wrapped in a blanket of stars,
Safe in your arms,
Id map out every muscle,
Every freckle,
Every line in your face,
And commit it all to memory,
So that on nights
When Im all alone,
I can remember.
Your strength is unmatched,
Your muscles so hard and defined;
Your gorgeous eyes pierce my soul,
Those deep sapphire pools drowning my every thought,
Until all there is, is you;
Your handsome face and bright smile are unsurpassable
By any,
And your arms,
So strong and warm,
That even if I wished it,
The Jaws of Life couldnt tear me away.
There, Id be content to remain,
In those arms forever,
Being protected,
Feeling loved.
Could this sanctuary,
So inviting and gentle,
Ever be more than a dream?
A wish?
Could I ever belong there?
Maybe wishes do come true
My junior year, this was my literature contest entry. It made it to the regional finals.
