Creatures and Seige Weapons

Introduction

This document represents the current thinking on creatures and siege weapons in Realm Wars. Ideas for individual creatures and siege weapons can be found elsewhere, this document is just concerned with the system in general. Like always, feedback on this document can be sent to James Margaris or posted on the forums or where this resource is found.

Creatures

Creatures come in two varieties:

Tame: Tame creatures are generally riding beasts such as horses, giant boars, wolves, etc. These beasts tend to be weaker but more controllable than wild creatures. Tamed creatures can be obtained (bought?) at stables, which carry beasts in proportion to the racial makeup of the team. (Lots of Orcs = lots of Orc mounts)

Wild: Wild creatures are typically more powerful than tamed mounts. These beasts can be found roaming on maps, harmlessly chewing on shrubbery. Wild beasts must be subdued by force before they can be mounted. While mounted if a wild beast takes enough damage it may buck its rider and blindly attack anyone or bolt off in a random direction to regenerate HP. If killed outright the beast will eventually respawn. While more difficult to obtain and use wild beasts possess significant health and attack strength.
