Money in El-Hazard

There is an old saying that states, "Money makes the World go round." That is true for not only Earth, but for El-Hazard as well. El-Hazardian money has the same value to its citizens as currency does on Earth. It can be used in exchange for goods such as food or clothing, or for services such as providing transportation.

While there is no universal currency in El-Hazard and many different nations most likely produce their own form of money, one currency seems to stand out as one of the more popular. That currency is the "Roshtal" or the currency of the nation of Roshtaria.

The Roshtal is first divided into several kinds of money. There are paper bills, which are most likely divided into various denominations. There are also coins that are also divided into various denominations. Finally, there is a third option. Roshtals can also be represented as a series of small, elongated rods made of either wood or ceramic. Denominations are represented by a series of segments and the thickness of the rod itself.

So, what exactly is a Roshtal worth? Well, to answer that question, it's all simply a matter of conversion. For your convenience, I have listed what a Roshtal is worth compared to two popular Earth currencies in both 1995(The time El-Hazard takes place) and today (2002.)

Currency Conversion Chart

Year Roshtal Yen US Dollar
1995 1 300 $2.92
2002 1 300 $2.56
