05/26 - USDAA Y-Agility - Saratoga Springs, NY - Advanced Standard Q3
They change the running order at the last minute so Championship runs before
Performance. As a result Magic gets the Rescue only 30-45 minutes prior to her
run. This is a very "nice" course. "Nice" seems to be a code word for easy. I
looked back at the Triple to make sure she didn't knock it. I did a Blind Cross
at the Tunnel. She goes right down on the Table. I had been worried that on the
prior day she had done the Table because it was late in the run. After the count,
I do a Front Cross while she stays. She runs well, but misses the Weave entry.
She steps through it and finishes well.
157 yds, 58 SCT, 53.70, 3/20, Advanced Titling Q3 and Advanced Agility Dog title(AAD).
Betsi Hartman's Border Collie Savi Rose beats her by almost 16 seconds. Of course that
is why there are mostly Border Collies in Masters. At this trial there was only one Lab
in Masters.
The next day Magic shuts down on the course. I think it was because I gave her a "wrap"
command. Even though we have been practicing it for a year, I wont use it in trial
anymore. She refuses the Dogwalk and wont get on the Table, so I skip them. She Weaves
fine and finishes strong.
She also shuts down on Rear Crosses and seems to slow down if I lead out past the
first jump, so I have to avoid these manuvers.
