4/8 - DCKC AKC Trial - at Willingboro, NJ - Open JWW Q2
Magic gets 2 legs! I almost withdrew her after she was slow the prior day, but
Sue Tovino had said I shouldn't. She says that shutting down is common after a
dog moves up to Open.
I didn't give her rescue, and I warmed her up over a 20" jump and gave her
treats before the runs. I didn't throw new commands at her, as I had the prior day.
Though she
is 2 seconds over SCT, she gets 2nd place. At the start, she starts to sniff,
but I get her going. Sue says I should have run back to her. After she balks
before Jump 12,
I get lost and think she took a wrong jump, but she is fine. She is 2 seconds
over SCT. Open Std Q1, Open JWW Q2.
The prior day she shut down after I gave her a "wrap" command. I also didnt
baby-sit the contacts and tried to send her to the Table. Today I went back
to baby-sitting the contacts and not sending her.
