The article below was published in The Enterprise, the major daily newspaper serving the southeastern Massachusetts region, on Sunday, June 21, 1998. Reporter Jeanne Rideout interviews Dr. Covington on the subject of applying motivational principles in media management, which is one of Dr. Covington's primary areas of expertise.

The
Friday, March 6, 1998, edition of The Pow Wow, the student
newspaper of Northeast Louisiana University, published this article
on a book-sgning appearance at NLU, Dr. Covington's alma mater.
The article at left appeared in the Thursday, August
15, 1996, edition of The Ouachita Citizen, and describes
Dr. Covington's work with KMCT television (Channel 38), where
during the summer months he produced a series of public affairs
programming for the station. At the time the story
was written, Dr. Covington was in
his second year of doing a series called "Focus," featuring
interviews with local personalities.
The Thursday, March 23m 1995, edition of The Bridgewater
Independent reported on an appearance by Dr. Covington on
"Town Meeting Louisiana Style," which was carried by
cable television stations across the state. Dr. Covington was
interviewed by host Jim Brown, who is also the State Insurance
Commissioner for Louisiana, and he talked about new media technologies
and their impact on existing broadcast systems.
The story also noted that a paper authored by Dr. Covington, "The
Application of General Systems Theory to the Management of Broadcast
Stations in a Multichannel Marketplace," had won second place
in a national professional competition.
Dr. Covington arranged a tour of Boston television
station WBZ-TV4 for his students recently, and above they pose

Robert Charles Payne, author and
businessman, is shown being interviewed by Dr. Covington on the
set of KMCT Channel 39 for the "Focus" television series
produced by Dr. Covington. The photograph was published in the
Thursday, August 15, 1996, edition of The Ouachita Citizen.

The February 5, 1998, edition of
The Comment, the student
newspaper at Bridgewater State College, published this story
about Dr. Covington's new book. In the interview, Dr.
Covington is quoted as saying, "Writing books is part of
my
