You laid my mind on hardened soil

your selfishness eclipsed my heart
the day you said goodbye
you left my world in tatters
and only hate remains
Now tears pour into puddled blood
weeping wounds ~ of acid rain!

You took this opportunity
to create a work of art
heaven would shine from deep within
but hell was at the start
you spun your web of cold deceit
you hollowed out the pain
now tears roll down my shattered life
stinging scars ~ of acid rain!
