The Weapons used
The M.95 Rifle
The main rifle used by the Dutch in 1940 was the M.95. A weapon that was
designed by the Oesterreichische Waffenfabriks Gesellschaft (OWG) and used
the Mannlichter system. Only the first few thousand weapons were produced
by OWG, the remaining weapons where build by the Dutch state company
Artillerie Inrichtingen from 1896 till somewhere in the late twenties.
Although the total production for the Netherlands was about 470.000, it is
estimated that there were some 260.000 of these weapons in 1940, the reason why
this number is significantly lower, is because of the fact the rifles wouldn't
last for 50 years and because of a large amount of weapons was converted to
carbine's (see the carbine section foe more info). It is widely excepted that
the M.95 was a modern weapon, even in 1940!

The Carbines
The Carbines in use with the Dutch forces, were all of a deferent model, but all
shred similar components. In 1940 about 10 different types where in use! Since
there isn't very much information about these types, I'm only naming the types
in use, with the characteristics of the 'Carbine no.1, old model' witch was in
use with the cavalry. The other types where:
Carbine, no.1, new model.
Carbine No.2, old model.
Carbine No.2, new model.
Carbine No.3, old model.
Carbine No.3, new model.
Carbine No.3, changed model
Carbine No.4, old model

The M.05/15 Heavy Machinegun
The Scwartzlose Heavy Machinegun was introduced in 1908 and some small changes
were made in 1915. The weapons was used with the machinegun Companies and
Squadrons and some in use in fortifications. (although most weapons in
fortifications were Vickers) There where about five types, of witch a shorter
cavalry machinegun was a failure because of the bad ballistics. By 1940 most
weapons where oM.068/15, of which some 2006 where available. Most weapons where
build as 6,5mm, but changed to 7,9 since 1925. Some might not have been changed
by 1940

The 2,0cm Antitank Rifle
The Solothurn S 18-1000 entered service in 1940. Although it was planned for
massive distribution, only a handful made it to the frontline and most sections
were not equipped or non-excitant. It had a penetration of about 20 - 23mm at
500 meters at a angle of 90 degrees. This was only 15mm at 60 degrees.
