I'm sure all of you have heard of the wonderful "Infinite Mana" combo that opened up in Scourge. If you haven't, well then... you are deprived. It involves two little uncommons, a Priest of Titania mixed with a Morphling to create:
For all those that don't know how it works, you need to put Pemmin's Aura on the Channeler and you also need another elf in play (Wirewood Elf/Priest of Titania). You tap the Channeler for two blue mana, and use one of them to untap the Channeler via Pemmin's Aura. Once you've built up enough blue mana start using it to get other colors, and voila! Infinite mana of any color.
Now what do you do? Theres probably over a hundred different ways to win with this, infinite mana is good on its own. I'm going to explain the best of them and what to add into a deck. Unfortunately, I only have a few of each Pemmin's Aura and Wirewood Channeler so I'm basing the deck around that.
1. Fetching
The odds of getting everything you need in your starting hand are pretty bad, especially with only two Auras and three Channelers. Thats why the first thing needed is stuff to find the card.
This is the best way to get any of these combos. Not only does it fuel a storm for a Brain Freeze, but you can use it to continually search your library for any card! Just play it and return it to your hand with its ability to draw to cards and put some back under your library until you find a Wish or a Brain Freeze, or whatever it is you want to win with. Say goodbye to Horned Kavu and Cavern Harpy for this deck, it just got outmatched. Even without Pemmin's Aura, your elves can allow you to use this over and over to find it. The invasion enchant creatures (Mourning, Shackles, Shimmering Wings) work to build up a basic storm.
Personally, I don't like decking myself with Compulsion or Read the Runes. At least with Sawtooth Loon and Flash of Insight, you can retrieve what you need again. Flash of Insight can slowly search for the card you need or, with infinite mana, become an instant tutor that lets you put your deck back in any order! Why does that happen? Because you get to look at your library if you pay as much as you need for X, and choose one of those and put it in your hand. But when cards are simultaneously placed on the bottom of your library, you choose the order. Well those cards happen to be your entire library so have fun stacking.
This deck is part blue, remember. These two cards can be played at instant speed so they are decent anytime in the game, infinite mana or not. Its easy to run out of your starting hand with elves because of such fast mana, so you are going to need a way to replenish your hand.
2. Mana Base
Twenty-two lands in the deck is what I have, 9 of them Islands, 13 of them Forests. Now we need elves!
These are the most efficient second turn elves, and if you want it even faster than throw in some Elvish Pioneers or Krosan Wayfarers for a first-turn play. Elvish Pioneers are better because they add to the Channeler's/Priest's mana output.
One you've gotten the infinite mana, you can use this to take anything (within limits) you own from your collection to kill your opponent with. Be it any card off this list, the wishes are great for getting what you need. If you are going to play Stream of Life/Atalya then try Death Wish. Cunning and Living Wish are the same colors as the deck so even if you don't have the combo, you can use them to search for something to help get it (wish for a Sawtooth Loon or a Flash of Insight, or use a Sawtooth Loon to find the Wish in the first place).
4. Kill Conditions
So many options! Burn, lifegain, beatdown, milling, almost anything possible in the game! Any buyback card or card with an X in it is just great for the combo.
The most popular way now is milling your opponent, which means to stick their library into their graveyard so they can't draw. There are a couple ways to do this. You can play Sawtooth Loon down a million times so you can find Cunning Wish, and wish for a Brain Freeze. Play the Brain Freeze and you will get all the storm copies you need to deck your opponent. Mischievous Quanar can be used to continuously copy Inspiration, forcing your opponent to draw his deck and lose. Don't forget Ambassador Laquatus! If you can't wish for Brain Freeze then go for the Ambassador.
The deck could easily be made pure blue and green, just add in more Channelers, Auras, Quanars and Temporal Springs. Right now, I've taken out Atalya simply because I can wish for her and the same with Prismatic Circle and Sterling Grove. I put in other copies of cards to make it consistent. But that deck isn't for me to make, because I don't have the proper cards. I'm fine with Wishing for winning.
