Lesson #1: Garden Watering Can Potting Shed

Materials/Tools Needed:
plastic watering can
plastic plant pot dish, terracotta-colored, with a
diameter that is 3 inches larger than the watering can base
industrial strength glue (Super Glue is a good one, or any glue that specifically says it will glue plastic to plastic)
brick colored polymer clay
green rope trim
orange string
silver spray paint
wooden popsicle sticks
small round fish tank pebbles or miniature gravel
white water-based primer paint
pencil
acrylic paint in brown, pale blue, and cream OR a sheet of scrapbook paper that looks like pine wood grain OR a sheet of light colored wood veneer
spray acrylic seal in matte finish (Krylon makes an excellent one, available in the paint sections of most stores)
small tip paintbrush
white/school glue
a small drill
craft knife
fine sandpaper
This project has a lot of materials/tools needed, but everything is in small quantities, most items you may already have around your home, and the project itself is very easy to do with no special skills required.
Lesson #2: Aluminum Kettle Cafe Room

Materials/Tools Needed:
aluminum kettle with at least 6 inches height inside
blue spray paint designed for painting metal (Rustoleum is a wonderful brand that needs no primer)
emulsion paint in yellow
black felt-tip pen
hacksaw
drill
metal file
soft wire brush to clean kettle's metal surface with (can also use an SOS pad or other cleaning pad for cleaning metal ovens and barbeque racks)
fine sawdust (optional, for use in creating interior walls with a textured finish)
rectangular wood pieces for creating timber beams inside the room
dark wood varnish
sponge brush
velvet or other type of cloth suitable for miniature carpet
piping cord in a color to match the carpet
industrial strength glue that is designed to attach wood to metal
fine braid in a light or white color to trim the kettle's opening with
Lesson #3: Wizard's Spell Book Room

Materials/Tools Needed:
cardboard box that is shaped to look like a book
foam core board, 1/4 thick
florist foam block (used for arranging flowers, available at all local craft and department stores as well as at gardening centers)
white/school glue
disposable plastic bowl
sponge brush
cold coffee or strong tea
spray acrylic seal in a matte finish
script paper pattern (included with that day's lesson)
faux tunnel picture (included with that day's lesson)
craft knife
scissors
hot glue gun and low temp glue sticks
brown polymer clay OR Doris egg carton project for making stones (see our archives, Stained Glass Greenhouse folder, Lesson #4)
various flat-backed rhinestones to decorate the banister railing with
small rectangle of velvet or similar type of cloth for making the curtain panel with
magazine picture showing an outdoor view
clear plastic found on store-bought packages

Lesson #4: Hat Box Haberdashery

Materials/Tools Needed:
large hexagonal hat box with lid that is a minimum of 12 inches across and 7 1/2" deep
thick cardboard
french parquet flooring (included with that day's lesson)
wide gold ribbon
fine gold braid
white emulsion paint
white/school glue
ruler
craft knife
scissors
wide paintbrush
thin wire
small gold beads
clear plastic (found on many store-bought packages)
barbecue skewers or wooden matchsticks
muslin ribbon in a white or pastel color
tiny satin roses
hot glue gun with low temp glue sticks
small mirror 5 x 3 1/2" in size, OR 5 x 3 1/2" silver mirror card (can usually be found with scrapbook supplies)
