Henman dismisses Agassi to claim Swiss Indoors title
BASEL, SWITZERLAND (TICKER) -- Tim Henman of Britain powered his way to his second straight ATP Tour title today with a four-set victory over American veteran Andre Agassi to capture the $975,000 Swiss Indoors event.
Henman fired 19 aces and broke Agassi's serve six times, including the final game of the match, en route to a 6-4, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 triumph, extending the Brit's winning streak to 17 matches.
Henman, who is in his last year as a junior on the tour, collected $537,000 for winning this ATP Tour title. He also claimed his second straight Sydney International title last month. Earlier this year, he won over Agassi in their only prior meeting at the Mercedes-Benz Cup final in Los Angeles.
Agassi continued his recent frustration in finals, posting his third straight runner-up finish -- fifth overall -- and second in as many weeks. He lost to Marcelo Rios in the final of last week's Grand Slam Cup exhibition in Munich, Germany.
The 29-year-old Agassi had not dropped a set leading up the final and was seeking his ninth career indoor title, and first European indoor title since the 1994 Paris Open.
