Huge Standing Ovation Greets Jake Lloyd
At
Weird Al's Concert!!!
We got a report on this but the
letters we got from fans who were there to witness and enjoy the moment
says it all! This one from Tim Carleton:
"I don't know if this is the
kind of thing you would be interested in, but I thought it was kinda neat.
I just came back from Weird Al's concert at the Greek Theater here in Southern
California. For the encore he played the "The Saga Begins" and when
he came to the part where he says "I will train this boy" he pointed to
the right hand side of the stage, and out walked Jake Lloyd in full Jedi
gear! Pandemonium erupted! They finished up singing the song and
then went into Yoda. I thought it was cool! Totally awesome!"
This one from Jedi Joe:
"Hi, this is Jedi Joe. I
just got back from the Weird Al Yankovic concert at the Greek Theatre in
Los Angeles and it was great. Al did quite a few songs (some I hadn't
even heard before), but the best was at the end. After he introduced the
guys playing the instruments (drums, guitar, synthesizer) he said goodnight
and walked off stage. Then, to a standing ovation, he walked back
on stage in total darkness and started "The Saga Begins" I don't
remember exactly when he did this during the song (I think it was toward
the end), but he brought out none other than Jake Lloyd to sing the song
with him and it brought the house down!! It was a very exciting time for
everyone. He then sung Yoda and finished with that. It was
really fun and I think everyone had a great and memorable time. MTFBWY!"

"Alright man, just got back from
a Weird Al concert. At the end of the show, everyone wanted an encore.
It was obvious he was going to do the "The Saga Begins." Anyway, he was
singing it, and towards the end of the song, after he sang "And then I
found... This boy...", Jake Lloyd came out dressed up as Anakin!
He got a huge standing ovation, everyone stood up for him and shouted and
clapped, he must have been freaked. He came out with a microphone and started
singing with Al. Then after "The Saga Begins", he did the Yoda theme
("Yo-Yo-Yo-Yo-Yoda..."). Jake stood around to sing with Al on that,
too. It was a great show."

Could he bring balance to the Force?
They interviewed the kid
Oh, training they forbid
Because Yoda sensed in him much fear
And Qui-Gon said, "Now listen here
Just stick it in your pointy ear
I still will teach this boy"

A lot of folks were croakin'
The battle droids were broken
And the Jedi I admire most
Met up with Darth Maul and now he's toast
Well, I'm still here and he's a ghost
