Martial arts have always been central in Corey's life. He looks up to Bruce Lee like every young boy does. But unlike ordinary boys who give-up their dreams at the slightest experience of hard work in training, Corey continued his quest for enlightenment. Like Michael Treanor, he too engaged in karate. But unlike Michael who preferred to stay away from the spotlight and focus on the path he has trodden, Corey has chosen to share with everyone the knowledge that he has so far taken hold of. Thus begins the story of tv series Black Sash.

Japanese Karate is the way of the empty hand. The very reticent Filipino martial art Arnis is the way of the occupied hand. Having a weapon even just that of a wooden stick is lethal. The way of the feet, on the other hand, is the expertise of the Korean martial art Taekwondo. Whatever the discipline might be, from Aikido to Judo to from Kung-fu to Muay Thai, they all really rely on stregnth, hardness, firmness or brute force.

Nonetheless the most effective technique has proven to be that of a soft and relaxed stance. Such as that demonstrated by Christian Bale in the movie Equilibrium. This technique known as the highest form of martial arts has taken the adoptive name of Tai Chi. It's not flashy at all but the efficiency is unmatched. This is the martial art Corey would like to share in Black Sash. It is quite risky for it may dissapoint people who love to watch martial arts shows for their shownmanship. Thus the need for subplots that are usually romantic. But for those who aspire for higher knowledge they will have Corey and Black Sash to thank for.

"Search for enlightenment is like finger-pointing to the moon.
Do not look at the finger, or you will miss all the heavenly glory."
-- Bruce Lee
