Action Prince Ian Veneracion exhibits
his Astral Travel Paintings

Everyone knows how multi-talented Filipino action prince Ian Veneracion is.  Not only is he a very versatile actor but he is also very athletic.  He has engaged in almost all types of daredevil sports.  But did you know that this towering actor is also a great painter?

In fact, he has been painting a lot since childhood.  To celebrate his 25th birthday, he decided have a grand 10 day exhibition of his most recent paintings at the West Gallery of the SM Megamall.  These paintings aren't just ordinary paintings.  These are paintings of his recent journeys in the astral plane of existence.  That's right, he can do astral traveling!  He can separate his astral soul from his body and travel to other places and dimensions.  And he has painted on canvas most of his adventures in the astral world for everyone to see.

The evening opening ceremonies of the exhibition was Ian's main birthday party.  Only close family and friends were invited but there was also a tv coverage of the event.  Reportedly seen at the dinner were famed Director Peque Gallaga, Mark Gil, UFO-logist  Roy Alvarez, Justin Simoy, Paolo Contis and Patrick Garcia.  There were also a lot of legendary Filipino artist in attendance and of course some movie personalities including Jovit Moya, the former actor who chose to become a policeman.

Famous painters talked about Ian's great painting style and techniques and emphasized that he does rank among them but his popularity as an actor overshadows his being an established painter.  Ian actually only found time to talk about his paintings during the television interview since he was very busy thanking everyone for their birthday greetings.

When asked if people can expect another exhibit from him, this time with a collection of nude paintings, Ian quickly answered, "Hindi pa ako nagta-try mag-paint ng nude, pero pag naging interasado na ako mag-paint ng nude, ia-announce ko." (I haven't tried nude painting, but if ever I get interested in nude painting, I'll announce it.)

Since all of Ian's exhibited paintings were about his astral travels, except for the one titled "The First Sunrise of the Millennium," there were a lot of questions about astral traveling but unfortunately a researcher who is very knowledgeable about the metaphysical world had a sore throat and can barely talk that night.  Briefly before dinner, Ian briefly discussed with the researcher his difficulties with astral traveling and the researcher just told him, "You can do it."

Roy Alvarez who had said before that highly evolved aliens here on Earth live or can live in different dimensions, did not comment on astral travel.  Everyone noticed what a true vegetarian Roy really is though, when he didn't place any of those classic steaks on his plate.  While he and the researcher were talking about where the next great UFO sighting would be (Pila, Laguna according to Roy), one reporter asked the researcher if there really is any connection between being a vegetarian and astral traveling or any other paranormal things like having the ability to see ghost (Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Haley Joel Osment, Will Estes and Grand Master Peter Leko are few of the internationally known young celebrities who encourage people to become vegetarians like them). The resaearcher obliged to give the following explanation:

"Yes it is true that most people who try to engage in the metaphysical no matter how simple, like meditation and yoga, or complex, like levitation, eventually become vegetarians.  Avoiding meat lightens the physical body, psychologically as it may seem.  Having a lighter body gives them an edge in performing things like ESP and OBE's.  It does make it easier.  However being a vegetarian isn't a prerequisite for anyone to be able to do these things.  Although most of those I introduce to the metaphysical phenomena become vegetarians, I myself love to eat red meat."

The paintings were all bought even before Ian could cut the ribbon during the opening ceremonies of the exhibit.  "Marvelous!" was how the awed people described the paintings of the colorful astral landscapes. The huge painting titled "The Astral Gateway" sold the highest followed by the spectacular "Firebird."  In fairness to the new owners of the paintings, pictures of the paintings will not be shown at the Realm of the Citadel Homepage.

Ian's message to everyone is clear.  "Be open minded.  Don't be good at just one thing.  Live life to its fullest.  There is so much out there that is yet to be discovered and learned."

Surely, art lovers are looking forward to Ian's next set of works.  Astral, nude or no nude, the good-looking actor has great talent worthy of an exhibit.
