BUTTOBI CPU
Dude, you're gettin' a doll!

Length: 3 25-minute episodes
Overall Genre: Comedy, robo-girl
Hentai Genre: Straight, android
Watched: All, subbed
This is the first hentai I saw that showed me hentai wasn't just porn, but actually a genre of anime. It uses many of the conventions that sexless anime uses, and would even be fairly entertaining if there was no sex in it at all. Not to say I don't appreciate getting to watch a sexy android get busy, of course.
Plot Summary: Akira, a high-school student, has been saving up for a new computer, which he eventually buys from a shady guy in an alley (well, it did have a warranty). Upon bringing the computer home, he finds it is not the top of the line PC he thought he was getting, but a naked female android! The hilarity really starts when Akira discovers that his new computer gains its memory from absorbing biological material from her user. (Since this is a hentai, I feel I do not have to explain further.) The plot thickens in the second and third episodes, where Akira and his computer girl Mimi discover a plot by American-made androids to displace and destroy Japanese models. The model name of these American computers: Nacintosh.
Production Quality: For a hentai series, the artwork is surprisingly good. Female characters are fairly attractive, even when they're supposed to be nerdy (in the case of Shimada). The show is energetically animated, and constantly seems out to prove that it's about more than the sex. Even the soundtrack gets in on the act, as the opening/closing theme is extremely catchy. The production values are one of the many things about this anime that can be enjoyed by a wide audience.
Content: The characters are given sufficient personality, but are far from unique. They all seem fairly cliche in some form or another, especially Akira, the stereotypical naive, romantically-inept but well-meaning student. He actually creates a very entertaining dynamic with Mimi, who is sweet and energetic, and filled with bubbly enthusiasm towards her new position (which is clearly explained and illustrated in the Kama Sutra). The plot isn't all that engrossing, but what really drives this series is the humor. Buttobi CPU assigns a sexual connotation to just about every computer function imaginable; the usually benign technical terms of memory expansion, software installation, data copying, and security program breaching are all excuses for sex scenes, which, as a result, are often quite hilarious.
THE SEX!!: The sex scenes aren't particularly graphic, and some are even merely implied, which helps to keep the comedy from getting overshadowed. All the sex is consentient, and is even a little romantic at times. Only two of the girls have any sex scenes of merit, but they're the best two girls for the job. Mimi is the typical girl next door type who lives a double life as a tigress in the sack. Not only does she want sex, she needs it to function at her maximum potential. She's not the curviest of girls, but her slender figure is still quite alluring. The other girl who gets noticeable skin time is Forte, another android girl with an aggressive streak that hides a sense of justice and caring. I think the creators went out of their way to make the Nacintosh sisters (three in all) as babealicious as possible, but they came out laughably curvaceous, which adds to the farcical humor prevalent throughout. Also, I am very thankful that, for an anime that largely takes place inside of computers, the sex never gets all that freaky. It never gets all that hot and heavy, either, so don't expect a truly pornographic experience.
Overall: Not only was this very entertaining for a hentai, it was a fun anime to watch. I would have gotten bored with it if it had gone on for more than three episodes, though. As far as plot and characters go, it has very little to offer. It tries to fill all those gaps with humor and parody, which it more than succeeds in doing. Those who just want to sit back with some popcorn and put their brain on autopilot should definitely consider this title. At the very least, it's good for a laugh... and the possibility of it "upgrading" your "hard-drive.
IN A NUTSHELL
+ Light and funny
+ High quality animation
+ Just the right length
- Kind of trivializes the genre
- Not much sex for a hentai
