Old Fashion Lemonade

1 1/4 up sugar
1 cup water
Peel of 2 lemons cut in strips and bitter white
part remove
1 Cup fresh or bottled lemon juice
4 cups ice water
Gently boil sugar in 1 cup water with lemon peel about 8 to 10 minutes until sugar is dissolved and mixture is syrupy and cool to room temperature
Pour syrup into a large pitcher add lemon juice and ice water and stir well. Add plenty of ice cubes and stir well again.
For Pink Lemonade - add 3 tablespoon grenadine
For Limeade - prepare same as lemonade but substitute limes wherever lemon is mentioned
