Oven Caramel Corn

4 quarts popped popcorn
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla

1. Preheat oven to 250 degres. combine popcorn and salt in a large heat proof bowl and set aside.
2. Comvine corn syrup, butter and sugar in heavy medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. Bring mixture to a boil. continue boiling 5 minuts over medium heat stirring often. Remove from heat.
3. Stir in vanilla. Immediately pour sugar mixture over popcorn stirring until completely coated. Sprean popcorn on 1 large baking sheet. Bake 1 hour stirring every 15 minutes. Cool
