Fix these ahead and freeze, ready for a party or drop in guest Makes 2 dozen
4 tb soft margarine 1 3 to 4 oz package cream cheese 1/2 tsp worchestershire sauce 2 hard cooked eggs, shells removed 3 slices white bread 3 slices whole wheat bread
Blend margarine, cream cheese and Worcestershire sauce until smooth in a medium size bowl, spoon half into a second bowl
Halve eggs, remove yolks, mash well or press thru a sieve and blend into mixture in one bowl. Cover bowl and set aside with whites for decorating canapes
Trim crust from bread, cut out 12 rouns with a 1 1/2 inch cutter from 3 slices, cut 12 diagonal shapes from the remaining 3 slices. spreach each with 0plain cheese mixture. Decorate and freeze
HOW TO DECORATE AND FREEZE
TO DECORATE fill a cake decorzting dset with cream cheese egg mixture fit with a star tip; pipe an edging around each canape
Garnish each with small whole shrimps, shrives of smoked salmon, rolled up bits of meat, crabmeat, cut up gherkins, chopped olives, pickled onions, whatever you want
Place canapes in a single layer in a large shallow pan; coverly tighly with transpararent wrap and freeze. When frozen pack no more than two layers deep until ready to use. Plan to use within 2 to 4 weeks.
To thaw: remove from freeze 1 hour before serving one layer at a time, letting sit at room temperature.
I especially like to make these ahead for a party because the day of the party I just need pop them out.
