1/4 cup salt 3 cups water yellow skin of 3 onions 6 already cooked hard boiled eggs
Bring water to boil with salt and onion skins and cook about 10 minutes until it turns brown.
Let water cool.
Crack eggs shells all around the egg but do not remove shell from egg. Put eggs in a bowl or jar and pour the water mixture over them..
Cover and let marinate in fridge at least 24 hours.
Peel eggs slice in half.
Variatiohn - add beet juice for coloring if red is desired
In Germany they are served with mustard and gherkins. They say for a large party put unpeeled eggs ina bowl and let guest help themselves. Different for sure.
