Dear MALFA Members and Friends:

Springtime is finally here and MALFA is looking forward to the participation of our members in our upcoming programs and field trips.  But first a quick look back to our Holiday Party to remember all of you who came to share some good times and good food.  We especially enjoyed Eugene Bosch’s discussion and slides of his trip to Ireland, which certainly involved seeing some very “out of the way” places.

Also during the winter months a few of us have been diligently working on MALFA’s artifact collections.  We are researching the Black Sheep site, in Westchester County, and would appreciate any information from members who have worked at that site. A big “thank you” to Dr. Susan Dublin who has been working with us on the collections.  We meet at least twice a month on Sundays and we will add a few evening sessions later this spring.  We really encourage members to participate.  The artifact collection work is important to our mission and is a great opportunity to learn about the Lower Hudson Valley history and pre-history.  Our next Artifact Workshop will take place on April 5 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.  Barbara Buske will review highlights of MALFA’s past programs and activities in order to help us plan for our future events.  Afterwards, we will discuss programs which are in the works and give members the opportunity to suggest activities which they would like to see and in which they would like to participate.

We hope to see you there!

Sincerely yours,

Jeanne Mikelson
