A Career Inventory

What is a career inventory? It is similar to VARK because the inventory does an analysis of your career interest and abilities. After the questions are answered, a career inventory suggest jobs that may interest you best. Not every job that is listed may be the job for you, but it is just a suggestion. When I went to "Choosing a Career that Suits you Best," I took "The Birkman Method Career Style Summary," "Career Interest Game" and "Kaplan’s Get a Clue." All of the inventories were accurate and similar to my job now.

Out of the three though, I liked "The Birkman Method Career Style Inventory." It was very clear and easy to understand. It gave m results that I was pleased with. The inventory told me what my interest and usual style color was yellow. Then the inventory explained the common interest and styles used for job responsibilities.

The second inventory I took was the "Career Interest Game." This inventory did not have any question. All it had was six different color boxes with descriptions an different category names. I chose conventional, also known as "The Organizers," which is true. Once a chose a box, it listed how I am and what I can do and like to do. This inventory also listed hobbies and job possibilities for the future. I was also pleased with this inventory.

The last inventory I took was "Kaplan’s Get a Clue." I did not like this inventory for two good reasons. It asked to many questions and I did not like how it would not let me skip a question if I did not want to answer it. This inventory did though give me the same results as the other two inventories.

I suggest that everyone should take a career inventory just to see what the results are. Nothing can hurt! I really enjoyed taking the inventories and I am happy with the results.
