A while ago in Rotterdam it was more than clear: *NSYNC is getting only getting hotter! Two weeks ago we told you that they did a live show, there was a signing and a meet & greet. And it's not relaxed chatting with the guys when there are so many screaming and running girls. So that's why we went to Paris the next day to do a real interview.
Ok, we're not gonna talk all about the lawsuit again, we just want to know one thing, is everything alright now?
Lance: Yeah, everything is OK now.
Justin: We've solved all the problems with our old record-company. We had a good talk about it.
Now you have a new record-company. What is the biggest difference when you compare it with the old one?
Lance: Well to be honest we didn't have that much problems with them in the States, but the company was just too big. Every country had their own section and opinion and they were pretty independent. So we actually had a different record-company in each country. And with Jive it's not like that. With Jive the same people make the decisions about the whole world/ And so our singles will be released at the same time everywhere. In some countries the record-company didn't like us so they never released our singles. For example we've never been in France, cuz the French section of our old company didn't like us and our music so they never did any promotion.
So you have to start all over again here? That has to be really weird now that you are superstars in the US...
Lance: Well, it makes us think back to the time when we just got started.
Justin: It keeps us down to earth
Lamce: And it is fun to walk down the streets without being recognized and followed.
How do you do that? Everywhere you go girls start to scream...
Joey: That's cool!
But doesn't it ever get scary?
Justin: We get protected really well. But sometimes it gets scary cuz we're worried that the fans will get hurt. We want them to be safe and enjoy our show.
Doesn't it bother you that you can't be alone anymore?
Joey:Well, it sometimes we can go out! Like here. And even if you go somewhere with a bodyguard it can be a lot of fun. We have worked with these guys for such a long time now that they have become close friends. Only they don't always let you do the things you want to do, haha. For example when there are a few fans waiting for you, he'll start saying "No autographs" when you do wanna sign some.
Justin: That's something you get used to.
Joey: We always knew that something like that would happen to us. We just didn't expect it to be this big. But the security isn't anything that bothers us.
Last time you had a chance to recommend some new artist. Now lets do that again, who deserves it to be mentioned.
Justin: D'Angelo. And Sisqo's album is really cool. Destiny's Child...
Lance: I know a good movie: American Beauty is really cool. And The sixth sense, and Music of the heart...
That's the movie you did the soundtrack song for with Gloria Estefan, right? And now you're nominated for an Oscar...
Justin: An Oscar, oh my god!
Joey: That's actually so cool! And we had never expected it. Imagine being nominated for an Oscar!
How did you get to work with Gloria Estefan?
Lance: Oh, she called us on a cellphone...
Justin: We got called by the producers of the movie if we wanted to do a song on the soundtrack with Gloria. Well, what do you think we said? No?
Joey: Gloria is one of the biggest stars in the US!
What are you doing with all the money? Cuz that has to be coming fast now...
Joey: I have bought a car for my parents, and...also a house by the way.
Justin: I have bought a boat for my parents and a car for myself. So now I have two.
Lance: I've bought a house and made sure that my parents don't have to work anymore.
Justin: Oh Yeah, I also bought a house. Almost forgot!
That's sweet that you also think about your parents...
Joey: That's logical to me
Lance: They have supported us since the beginning, and even before that of course!
Justin: My mom used to travel with us but not anymore, Cuz now I'm a big boy!
