Here are some excerps that I chose from the article. They are the most important parts. Its in interview style.
How will ''The X-Files'' deal with Duchovny's part-time schedule?

A likely scenario, according to X-Files sources, will have the Duchovny episodes sprinkled throughout the year, though that's still being decided. To fill the Mulder void, they're looking to cast a new buddy for Scully (Gillian Anderson), a character that definitely won't be in the mold of the conspiracy-obsessed Mulder. Says X-Files creator Chris Carter: ... I think that the partner would probably be a skeptic. And more likely than not it will be a man.'' The producers will also bulk up the roles of supporting characters like Skinner and Krycek (but not the Lone Gunmen, who will be starring in their own series)...

Is next season the final one?

...Carter hints the franchise could continue even if both Duchovny and Anderson call it quits. ''If we plan it carefully, there could be [more seasons], but I'm not telling you that there will be,'' he says elusively...

If Scully is really with child, who's the father?

This being ''The X-Files'', don't rule out aliens or the possibility of Papa Mulder. ''There was a [recent] episode written and directed by Gillian that began and ended in Mulder's bedroom,'' Carter teases. ''That would certainly bring up some questions for me.''

What the heck was Krycek doing in an African jail?

As usual, all roads lead to you-know-who. ''Cigarette Smoking Man put him in that prison as a result of [Krycek's] stealing information from him,'' says Carter. That explanation never made it into the final cut, he adds. And what are we to make of the return of U.N. babe Marita Covarrubias, miraculously cured of the alien cancer? ''She actually got it from a test,'' explains Carter. ''But she was not dying, she was just weakened from the tests.'' Uh-huh. Guess it was one of those 24-hour alien bugs.

Didn't the aliens cure Cigarette Smoking Man of lung cancer a couple of seasons ago?

Why was he dying of it again? Says Carter: ''Remember that he had an operation, which was the same operation that Mulder had where there was a transfer of genetic material. [Not really, but okay.] (<--- thats the article talking. I remember and I'm sure you remember since you are reading this) The operation didn't work. This is the result of that.'' Answer us this, then: Did Krycek's pushing CSM down the stairs finally kill that black-lunged bastard? '(Me talking. I don't think so. CSM as died before. He was just pushed down the stairs. Krycek didn't even check to see if he was dead. Now thats sloppy. But I like CSM. I hope he doesn't die.)Wait 'til next season,'' Carter says. Now, there's a shocker!

What A Difference A Day Makes

David Duchovny announced yesterday that he will return to "The X-Files" next season. This follows Tuesday's statement from "Files" creator Chris Carter that the show would go on with or without Duchovny. According to Daily Variety, Duchovny will get between $350,000 - $400,000 per episode for 11 shows. (A full season typically consists of 22 episodes.) Variety also reports that the actor has settled his lawsuit with Fox over syndication profits from the show.

Fox Wants More X-Files
Aandy Grushow, chairman of the 20th Century Fox television studio, told the Chicago Tribune newspaper that the Fox network is committed to bringing The X-Files back for an eighth season, with or without star David Duchovny. "We would like for not just the show to come back, but for David Duchovny to come back in the show," Grushow said.

But, Grushow added, "Bottom line is, we're prepared to make the show with or without David." Duchovny, who plays Agent Fox Mulder, has said he's made clear to the network what his terms are to come back. Duchovny, whose contract expires at the end of this season, has also sued Fox for royalties he argues are due him from the sale of X-Files reruns to Fox's sister cable network FX.

X-Files creator Chris Carter, whose contract also expires this season, has previously said he's not interested in doing the show without Duchovny. Gillian Anderson, who plays Agent Dana Scully, is contracted for one more season, but has said she wants to leave, the Tribune reported.

But Grushow seemed determined to carry on in any case. "We're not there yet on either count, knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that Chris Carter will make the show with or without David, or whether or not David will be a part of it," Grushow said.

Scully Fans Watch TV For Charity
Fans of The X-Files star Gillian Anderson are sponsoring viewing marathons in May to raise money and awareness for Neurofibromatosis Inc. and other groups that combat the debilitating disease. The Order of the Blessed Saint Scully Enigmatic and the Gillian Anderson Web Site are sponsoring the fund-raiser for the second year.

May is Neurofibromatosis Awareness Month, aimed at increasing the public's knowledge of the genetic disorder that causes tumors to form on the nervous system. Anderson, whose brother has the disease, has given her blessing to the fans' fund-raising effort.

The fans encourage X-Philes everywhere to sponsor a day watching "Scullycentric" X-Files episodes and donate the proceeds to NF Inc. or other NF charities. Fan organizations have also organized group viewings in cities around the world. Last year, fans raised more than $13,000.

If David Duchovny fefuses to return to The X-Files for another year, they May 21 broadcast could end up being the last original episode of the hit series. And judging from some script materials we obtained, it is shaping up to be the most frightening hour in the history of the show. Way scarier than flesh-munching aliens. The plot: Mulder and Scully get visited by a pencil-pushing bureaucrat who goes over their expense reports from the day they landed at The X-Files. Imagine the dialogue: "So, what's this here -- $20 for dry cleaning to remove alien slime from your evening gown?" It's an ingenious way for executive producer Chris Carter, who wrote the episode, to revisit the show's best moments.

Catatonia a Saucy Import From Wales

.c The Associated Press
By DAVID BAUDER
NEW YORK (AP) - Cerys Matthews' reputation precedes her.
It arrives via dozens of British magazine covers, which have pictured the rock band Catatonia's lead singer decked out in a white bustier, a skintight rubber suit slit nearly to her belly button, or posed like a tiger about to pounce.

Clearly, this 29-year-old Welshwoman enjoys life. She was in a London cab when she heard Catatonia had its first No. 1 single, and she ordered the driver to stop, hopped into the street with a whoop and began guzzling champagne.

Virtually no one in the United States knows her music yet, but the American magazine Details was smitten enough
