About this Page Way back a long time ago, on October 16th, 1998, I made my first web-site. I set up an account on Geocities and opened “The Chaos Xone”. While the site has evolved quite a bit over time with some sections coming and going, even back then it featured many of the same things it features today. Anime and Toy reviews were around back then. Though, most were less than a paragraph long and weren’t very descriptive or helpful. We had a section for MIDI and hilarious WAV files like so many sites at the time. Also there was a section for Artistic works that has since spun off into it’s own site (likely to be as well reintegrated if it’s not dropped). Speaking of spin-offs sites coming back, pretty much every section has done this at one time. The initial Chaos Xone was fairly short lived. WAVs and MIDIs ate up a tone of server space on the little Geocities account, and the design was a very boring solid black with white text. Also back then I used Front-page to make all the pages. I have since learned HTML and now make all my pages with Notepad (spellchecked in Word)(exception, Lab reports are HTMLized by Word). I made my second website soon after, and it was much more popular than the original had ever been. This second website was the Geocities Pokemon Center. While not exceptionally impressive, at the time it was one of the first Pokemon websites around. It continued to gain popularity till one day Yahoo decided to buy out Geocities. This meant that users had to make a few changes to their log in accounts the next time they accessed their websites. Unfortunately during this process I lost the password to the Pokemon Center and it has not been updated since. It’s for the best however as I was generally loosing interest on the topic. On the Chaos Xone front, the website continued to improve in design. I started making buttons for different sections and adding a few more flashy graphics to the works. The Anime reviews area spun off into the short lived Anime Xone. The Anime Xone included a ton of screen shots however that I could not support on the small server. However the screenshots were all originals created by myself. One thing I have almost always worked to do on my websites is to make all content original. If I’m just going to offer the same garbage I’ve downloaded elsewhere, I may as well just provide a link to that elsewhere instead of eating up my own space. Eventually the Anime Xone integrated back into the Chaos Xone and finally it disappeared all together. In “Version 5” of the Chaos Xone, I started to add what I called features. These would eventually evolve into the articles found today on Lameazoid. It also featured Game reviews, writing, art, and Transformers reviews. The Transformers and Art sections had spun off into their own sites as well off and on during this period. Occasionally I would pull the art section back and throw up some other bull shit in the space normally occupied by it. This was the final version of the Chaos Xone. For a good period of time I did not update the website at all. Eventually it was revived into what you see today. The Chaos Xone was re-christened “Lameazoid”, most of the worthless content was either shipped off site or dropped completely. The idea was to have a simple website with simple text articles on a regular basis. The original layout can be seen in the Rants section. Eventually graphics were added for game reviews since it allowed for more opportunity to poke fun at the subject and to illustrate some points better. After the first year, I changed everything to the “Comic” format, the idea was to review more comic related materials. For a short while during this period I expanded the layout to 800 pixels wide and added the “Lame Links” section. Eventually I returned tot he 640 pixel width of the past and changed everything to the blue “Final Fantasy” layout. Now I’ve found it’s more accommodating if I don’t limit the layout to a certain theme for the whole website. I decided to make each section have it’s own theme. I could even create custom themes for special articles, then start throwing those in at random. Finally Lameazoid.com was registered and I moved the site off of Geocities for good.
