Walk

Starting in the village of Aspley Guise, this circular walk takes you through the Woburn Estate, seat of the dukes of Bedford since the seventeenth century and now home to Woburn Safari Park – the country’s largest – as well as the stately family home, Woburn Abbey, named for the monastery that once stood here. The walk loops round the safari park before heading over the hill to cross the estate’s deer park and past abbey itself; an optional six-kilometre loop leads around the abbey and through landscaped Woburn Park. From the abbey, it’s a short walk out to the attractive, largely Georgian, village of Woburn. The walk back to Aspley Guise takes you through farmland and along lanes to the medieval heart of the village.
