Walk

This extremely pretty and satisfying walk runs along footpaths and country lanes from the hamlet of Stratfield Mortimer to the picturesque remains of the Roman town of Calleva – a stately ring of defensive walls and a well-preserved amphitheatre, one of only sixteen built in Roman Britain. There are plenty of scenic spots at Calleva for a picnic. From the ruins the route leads across country to the station Bramley.
