Program

 

Saturday 29th

·         Arriving to Clyffe Pypard

·         Signing in the bunkhouse

·         Marlborough Downs walk from Clyffe Pypard to Binknoll Castle (10km)

·         Evening program - “Master Chef Contest (groups of max. 4 will compete in their teamwork, communication and cooking skills) and after party

 

Sunday 30th

·         Breakfast

·         Mythic New Year’s Walk to Avebury (16km), prepare to be amazed – this largest stone circle in Britain is something you shouldn’t miss

·         Discover the life of “Marmalade Millionaire” and the charming village of Avebury with its thatched cottages, antiques and village church - and warm up with a cream tea or maybe something stronger?

·         Dinner

·         Evening of the games

 

Monday 31st

·         Breakfast

·         Final walk of the year 2007

·         Preparation for the Big Night

·         New Year’s Eve Whirl in carnival masks * final countdown * fireworks * Champagne for all

(Masks are obligatory but don’t worry, original handmade masks finished on the place

are ok as well J.)  

 

 

Tuesday 1st

·         Morning relax after wild J New Year’s Eve Celebration

·         Have a breakfast and share your fresh Resolutions for the year 2008!!!

·         Signing off the bunkhouse and depart home


 

 

Accommodation

 

Clyffe Pypard - Friendly bunkhouse attached to pub in small village in conservation area close to the Ridgeway.

  

Opening hours: 8.00 – 10.00 and 17.00 – 22.00

 

Facilities:

Fully equipped SELF-CATERING KITCHEN with oven/cooker and a microwave, fridge and a freezer

Shower and toilet facilities (showers metered - 50p)

Games Room, Library, Lounge & TV, Drying area, Garden, Shop, Restaurant, Internet

MEALS AVAILABLE: to buy a meal (breakfast or dinner) speak with your guide or hostel staff (breakfast has to be booked 1 day in advance, dinner in the morning)

ROOMS: We have booked for you 1 room with 6 beds and 2 rooms with 4 beds.

 

Transport

 

On Saturday morning we will take the train from London to Swindon and then local bus to Broad Hinton. From here it is easy 3,5km walk to Clyffe Pypard.

On Tuesday we will leave Clyffe Pypard before noon. Taking a taxi from Broad Hinton to Swindon and from there a train to London, we’ll be back in London in the afternoon.

 

We cannot be responsible for failure of public transport or traffic delays, which may prevent you from taking the tour.  Please allow plenty of time to return in time to connect with other form of transport. We also do not accept responsibility for any delays; failures caused by circumstances beyond our control.

 

 

What to take with you

Outdoor clothing, firm walking shoes, food, slippers, towel, pocket money (single bus ticket from Swindon to Broad Hinton). You will not need a sleeping bag.

 

 

Food & Drink

 

Please be aware there are no food & drink shops in Clyffe Pypard. However there is a small shop stocking essentials in the bunkhouse. If we have time we can do our shopping in Swindon on Saturday.

As the bunkhouse is attached to a pub, bringing and consumption of own alcohol drinks is strictly prohibited on the premises. Please note that we agreed to follow this policy. Our hosts will be happy to provide everything we need for our celebration. By registering for the trip you automatically agree to respect this policy.

 

 

Registration & Price

 

Price: £85.00

Including return train ticket, Tuesday’s taxi to Swindon, accommodation for 3 nights and admin fee.

 

Payment can be made in 2 separate payments (advanced and final payment). More details will be sent in payment instructions.

Places available: 12

 

Registration in 3 easy steps:

1.     Send the booking email to [email protected] (please write “New Year’s Eve Celebration, 29.12.-1.1.08” into the subject field)

2.     Await confirmation of your booking from us / we will send you payment instructions as well.

3.     Complete the payment as per the instructions. Once we receive the payment your registration is complete.

 

Meeting details will be sent to you 3 weeks prior to our departure.

 

 

As the number of places is limited to 12, they will be allocated on first registered first served basis.
