An adventurous young girl, Mizuki Ashiya, immediately falls in love when she sees the amazingly handsome athlete, Izumi Sano, high jump in the air through a television broadcast. She is captivated by his graceful jump and begins to research quite a lot about him. Absolutely determined to see him high jump before her very own eyes, she works a part-time to save money to go to Japan for three years. However, Mizuki has ONE small problem. Sano currently attends an ALL BOYS boarding school. Thus she asks her best friend, Julia, to cut her long beautiful hair like a guy. From the first day of school in Ohsaka Gauken, Mizuki is running late! She bumps into a tall young man while wending her way through the crowds and hastily apologizes, then goes to class. When she arrives in her first class she notices that the person she had bumped into previously was none other than Izumi Sano himself, the guy she had been waiting to meet for three years, her idol. Right from the start, she straightforwardly states that she likes Sano and wants to be better acquainted with him. A little confused and gay-phobic, Sano coldly replies that he is not "interested in that kind of thing". Mizuki feels a small culture shock since in America she's used to being direct and honest. All the other boys stare at her while she is talking to herself and Nakatsu approaches her. He seems to have taken a liking to Mizuki's frankness and American culture (his hair is dyed brown). He asks some silly questions and they begin to have the makings of a new friendship. After class, she finds out that she is Sano's roommate! What a coincidence. To Mizuki's horror, she also discovers that Sano had quit high-jumping after a car accident. SO. All Sano seems to be doing during school is sleeping, daydreaming, or taking the dog out for a walk. GREAT. During P.E. Nakatsu and Mizuki play a little soccer and unfortunately, Mizuki loses balance and her consciousness. Alarmed and frightened, Nakatsu doesn't know what to do. Sano takes charge and carries her to Umeda, the school nurse. When they arrive in the nursing room, Umeda demands Nakatsu and Sano leave them alone. The BIG question then pops from Umeda lips: what is a girl like Mizuki doing in an ALL boys school?! Sano comes for Mizuki in time and says to Umeda that she needs to return to class. WHEW. Things happen in-between, and Mizuki tries to persuade Sano to return to high-jumping now that she knows him a little better. When they return back to the dorms, she takes a shower after Sano and he accidentally opens the shower door to retrieve his watch. He sees EVERYTHING although Mizuki thinks he only saw her rear. However, he doesn't say anything about it. At this point, he doesn't really like her, but he doesn't hate her either. I suppose he doesn't tell because 1) he's very carefree, and 2) he likes Mizuki's company. Then, a package comes from America from her brother Shizuki who doesn't know of Mizuki's underhanded boy masquerade and Julia her friend who does. Julia sends a letter of encouragement and her brother sends a frilly nightgown. HAHA. Finally Sano has reached his saturation point of encouragement to return to high-jumping from Mizuki. He blows up at her when she asks if he ate anything for dinner, and as a result, Mizuki starts to cry after Sano leaves. Nakatsu enters and wonders what the heck went wrong. He wants to hug her SO BADLY but he prevents himself from doing so by stroking her hair. Strangely enough, he feels a girly-ness about her that makes him want to like Mizuki as a love interest. Seeing that Mizuki is being comforted by Nakatsu, Sano disposes of the peach drink he bought for Mizuki and leaves yet again. Nakatsu knows that Sano had hurt Mizuki in some shape or form and decides to have a manly-man fight. Just when we're about to get some good action, Sano sees Nanba, the womanizer dorm-head lead Mizuki somewhere. VERY concerned and a little disconcerted, he frees from Nakatsu's grasp and runs looking for Mizuki. Nakatsu and Sano double-team looking for her, and when he finally sees her, he notices that nothing bad has happened to her. Thank goodness. Sano and Mizuki resolves their conflict and the act ends in a jolly, tearful tone. ![]() |
