Themes |
| Our class study is based on themes which cover as many academic areas as possible. When many areas are integrated, children seem to learn more. The themes incorporate the objective we follow from the state of Oklahoma. We often have several themes going on at the same time. |
| September-
All about me-We are learning all about ourselves. We have been learning about the different emotions children have. Here are some expressions we saw this week.
October- The children have been learning about safety and fire fighters. The fire truck came to school this week. They told us all about being a fire fighter.
Seeing the firefighters stimulated the Kindergartners to imitate their life.
We sang about Witch's Brew, so we decided to make our own brew. This is what the children wanted to put in their brew.
November-
Thanksgiving-
As we prepared for Thanksgiving, we learned about the
Pilgrims and Indians. We made Indian vests and headdresses.
Here we are the day before Thanksgiving.
December-
The children enjoyed coloring different pictures at
Christmas. Here Joe is coloring, but also learning to spell some words. By
Christmas, everyone could spell "Ho Ho Ho" and many could spell Santa.
