Hayley has a nightmare about Arlene and wakes up worried about Lorenzo. She gets out of bed and walks over to his crib, only to find it empty. |
Hayley yells for Mateo and he runs into the room and finds a panicked Hayley clutching the baby's blanket to her chest. Mateo explains to her that the baby is fine, he just fussed at little, so he picked him up. |
Hayley then asks Mateo why the baby's cries didn't wake her up. She tells him that Arlene never heard her crying when she was a baby. She is scared she is turning into Arlene. Mateo assures her that the baby didn't cry much at all and that he'd been awake anyway. |

Hayley calms down after she sees a sleeping Lorenzo. Mateo tells her that she should try and get some sleep, and assures her that she is nothing like Arlene and that Lorenzo is lucky to have such a wonderful mother. He finally convinces her to get some sleep and offers to stay up with the baby. |

Hayley asks Mateo why he was awake when the baby cried, and he admits to having "stuff" on his mind. He confesses that he feels he's acting like his father, obsessing over money and whether or not their family will end up in the poor house, and that all he wants is for Lorenzo to be proud of him. He gets up to get the baby and reassures Hayley that everything is going to be okay. |

As Mateo puts Lorenzo back in his crib, and gets into bed next to Hayley, someone who's been lurking outside the condo places a hand against the window. Startled, Mateo sits up in bed and goes outside to see what's out there. He walks around and finds nothing, but as he's walking back to their condo, he notices a package on their doorstep addressed to Lorenzo Santos. |
Inside the condo, Mateo opens the package and discovers a large piggy bank. Putting it back in the box, Mateo goes back to bed. Hayley wakes up and asks if the baby is okay. Mateo tells her that the baby is fine and to go back to sleep, but inside, Mateo is really worried. |
