New Kids On The Block
             Biography

Formed in Boston in the year of 1984.
The New Kids were a copy of New
Edition,a former black heartthob group.
With the success of New Edition, music
producer Maurice Starr came up with
the idea of a white suburban boy group
with funk.The members included:
Joseph McIntyre,Jordan Knight,
Daniel Wood,Donald Wahlberg,and
Jonathan Knight.Their self-titled album debut in 1986"New Kids On The Block"
did not get as much exposer as they had
hoped.Everything would change in the
summer of 1988 with their second
album "Hangin' Tough".They were
finally getting noticed for songs like
"Please Don't Go Girl"(went #5 on charts),"I'll Be Loving(Forever)",
"Hangin' Tough",and "Cover Girl".By the time their third album came out in
1989 "Merry,Merry Christmas" New Kids were a house hold name.American
teenage white girls couldn't help, but love
them and they weren't the only ones all
colors, all over the world went in screaming frenzies just at the sound of
their voices.Thats what made "This One's for the Children"become so popular. There was no doubting it(and who wanted to)New Kids on the Block
were ****STARS****.Forbe magazine
published in 1989 that New Kids made
more money than Micheal Jackson and
Madonna.But,suprising enough they
were voted worst tour in 1990 for the "Hangin' Tough" tour(which I belame on jealous b/f).In 1990 they released
"Step By Step" their fourth album sold
fewer copies than their debut did .     That didn't make a difference
in the charts."Step by Step was #1 in
the US and the UK,and "Tonight wasn't
that far behind. In 1992 they released
"No More Games" and had a shorter
name N.K.O.T.B and why not they weren't kids anymore their oldest member was eighteen. The album didn't
receive much attetion, but it had great
songs like "Valentine Girl"and "Call It
What You Want".In 1994 N.K.O.T.B
