| Serenade to the Flame Episode 1: The Flute Player Raye sat outside in the garden. Rini was picking flowers and playing little games as if she ruled over Crystal Tokyo. Raye smiled as she went on playing. It was a late summer day and the sun was beginning to set. Raye stood up and stretched her arms. �Rini it�s time to wash up for dinner� called Raye. Rini frowned and walked slowly toward Raye. �Do I have to?� she asked. �I want to play some more.� Raye smiled. �Sorry kid, but we can�t be late, so go wash up!� She said, pushing Rini. As Raye was about to head in she heard someone playing a flute. �What the?!� said Raye walking toward the sound. Raye walked down the road still hearing the music. Then she saw a man with short blond hair. He sat on a bench playing a flute. Raye stared at him. �Haven�t you ever seen a person playing a flute before?� said the flute player. Raye was shocked. "Um... I'm sorry,� she sputtered. The guy grinned. �Hey, it's okay,� he said opening his eyes. Raye looked into his eyes. They were blue. Raye thought he was cute, a bit mean, but still cute. �My name is Raye. What's yours?� she asked. �Well nice to meet ya' Raye, my name is Jed,� he replied. Raye looked at him then she noticed it was almost 7:30. �Um... it was nice meeting you, but I have to go or I�ll be late for dinner,� said Raye, running off. Jed grinned and began to play the flute again. So, Sailor Mars, he thought. You don�t remember me but I�ll never forget that day. The day you and your two miserable friends sent me to eternal sleep. He stopped playing and stood up. �But don�t worry! Soon you, Sailor Mercury, and Moon will die!" Jed laughed and walked away. Soon he reached an apartment building and walked inside. He had a room that looked normal. �It has been a long day,� he said to himself. He went outside on the balcony. �To you Miss Mars, a serenade. Only I don�t play it because I love you,� he said. Then he began to play a song. After dinner Raye sat by the window hearing a soft melody play. Jed, I wish that I could see you again, thought Raye. She laid down on her bed in her lacy nightgown. Her hair was braided back. She slowly drifted asleep. From outside Rini peeked inside. She liked Raye. Raye was nice to her and liked to play games with her. �I wonder why she was late for dinner?� said Rini. Rini tiptoed inside and closed her window so Raye wouldn�t catch cold. Then she tiptoed back out and closed the door. The next morning Raye went for a walk in the park. There she bumped into Jed. Raye blushed and walked with him. �Hi Jed,� said Raye, turning red. �Hey Raye,� he said. �I�m glad I bumped into you,� said Raye. Jed grinned and he stopped walking. �I know this will sound kind of stupid, but would you like to have lunch with me today?" �Sure,� said Raye excitedly. Jed smiled and looked at his watch. �I have to get going or I'll be late," he said, running off. �I�ll see you later,� said Raye. When Jed was out of sight Raye began to jump up and down. I have a date with a really cute guy! she thought. �I�d better get ready,� said Raye, running back to the palace. All she could think about was their lunch date. She decided to keep it a secret from everyone until she got to know Jed better. Episode 2: A Date with Destiny Raye sat on a bench outside of the restaurant. She was early and very nervous. She dressed casually. She wore a red tank top and black pants with her hair tied in a braid. She looked at her watch. "Ten minutes,� she said to herself. �Five minutes.� Then Raye saw Jed come. He rode on a motorcycle. He took off his helmet and greeted Raye. He wore jean pants and a blue t-shirt. �Did I keep you waiting?� asked Jed. �No I just got here,� lied Raye. The two walked inside the restaurant. They sat at a table by a window. �So Jed, how long have you been living in Crystal Tokyo?� asked Raye. �My whole life,� replied Jed. �My parents died when I was young, so I went to an orphanage until I was able to work,� said Jed. �That's sad,� said Raye. Jed smiled. I can�t believe she�s falling for this! he thought. She doesn�t even realize I�m Jedite! As they talked their order came. They each had a cheeseburger, fries, and a glass of pop. After lunch the two left the restaurant and went for a walk. �I guess I�ll see you later,� said Raye. �Yeah, gotta go to work now,� said Jedite. �Well, bye then,� said Raye, walking away. Jedite grinned. I can destroy her now with no witnesses! he thought. Raye turned around and walked back to Jedite. She hugged him. �Thanks for a nice day� said Raye. Jedite stood there dumbstruck. When Raye let go she smiled at him and left. Jedite stood there in shock. When Raye was out of view he left to go back home. He teleported to his apartment and went to the balcony and picked up his flute. �Why didn�t I kill her?� he said to himself. �Well, there's always tomorrow,� he laughed. Jedite then began to play his flute. Raye sat by the window watching the sunset. �Hey Raye,� said Rini from the doorway. Raye turned and smiled. �Yeah?� replied Raye. Rini walked up to her and sat next to her. �Why were you late yesterday for dinner, and why weren't you here for lunch?" �I went for a walk and lost track of time and today I had lunch at a restaurant,� said Raye. �Oh,� said Rini. �Can I go eat with you tomorrow?� �Alright� said Raye. Rini smiled. �Rini, time for bed!� called Neo Queen Serenity. �Coming mommy!� called Rini. �Bye Raye� Raye smiled as Rini ran out of the room. She then took a bath. After that she slipped into her nightgown and laid in bed. She laid there for a while before going to sleep. I hope I see him again, thought Raye. Jedite stood outside on the balcony. He grinned and went inside. He plopped down on his bed and fell asleep. �G�nite Raye, pleasant dreams, because these will be your last!� he said to himself. Then he slowly fell asleep. �Mommy,� said Rini. �Raye said I can go with her tomorrow.� �Thats nice sweetie,� Neo Queen Serenity said, kissing her on the forehead. When Rini fell asleep she had a bad feeling. �Strange� she shuddered. Then she went into her room, dressed in her nightgown, and slipped into bed next to Endymion. �Pleasant dreams my love� he whispered. Episode 3: Heart Break at Midnight Rini skipped along the sidewalk. She held a pink parasol that matched her dress. �Hey Raye, look at all those pretty flowers!� said Rini. Raye smiled and picked a flower. �Here, Rini,� said Raye, putting the flower in her hair. �Thanks Raye!� said Rini happily. Rini began to skip down the sidewalk again. �Rini, be careful,� said Raye. Then Rini spotted a crystal animal inside a shop window. �Wow, thats so pretty!� said Rini. The next thing Raye saw was Rini walking across the street. �Rini look out!� shouted Raye. Rini turned and saw a truck coming at her. �AHH!� she screamed. As the car was about to hit her someone grabbed her and the two got out of the way just in time. �Rini!� shouted Raye. �There you go, you�ll be okay,� said Jedite smiling. Rini smiled, �Thank you,� she said politely. �Rini are you okay? You know better then crossing the street like that!� scolded Raye. �Its alright Raye, she's okay,� said Jedite. �Hi Jed, and thanks for saving Rini,� said Raye hugging him. Jedite grinned. �Hey Raye, can he have lunch with us?� asked Rini. �If he wants,� said Raye. �I�d love to� said Jedite. Raye smiled. Rini took Raye�s and Jedite�s hands and said, �Come on then! This will be fun." As the three walked down the road they came to a carnival. Rini�s eyes lit up. Raye tapped Jedite on the shoulder. Jedite turned and looked at Raye who was pointing down at Rini. Jedite smiled. �Hey Rini, want to go to the carnival?� asked Jedite. �Yes, please,� said Rini. The three walked in. �Look, a carousal!� said Rini. �Can I please go on it?� Rini looked up with pleading eyes at Raye and Jedite. �Yeah, go ahead, we�re here to have fun,� said Jedite After the carnival the three went to the park. It was about 9:00 PM when they got back home. �Thanks for a great day Jed,� said Rini hugging him. �You're welcome,� said Jedite. �Good night,� said Rini walking inside. Raye smiled. �You are so sweet!� said Raye. �Yeah, I know� grinned Jedite. �Well, good night,� said Raye, walking away. Here's my chance... I can kill her now, thought Jedite. He pulled out a small dagger from his pocket. Raye turned back and kissed him on the cheek. �Thanks again� she said as she went inside. Jedite stood there. Then he put the dagger back in his pocket. �Why didn�t I kill her?� said Jedite to himself. When Jedite walked away he didn�t notice that two people were watching him. �Endymion, I have a bad feeling,� said Serenity. �Shall I assemble the scouts?� he asked. �Yes, everyone but Mars,� replied Serenity. �Alright,� said Endymion, walking away. Jedite walked through the park. He smiled to himself. �Stop right there!� said a voice. Jedite turned around. In front of him was Neo Queen Serenity, King Endymion, Sailor Mercury, Jupiter, and Venus. �You will not harm my friends!� said Serenity. �Who�s going to stop me?� said Jedite. �We are!� said the Sailor Scouts. �And so am I, I�m King Endymion,� Then Serenity took a step forward. �I am Neo Queen Serenity and I will punish you!� she said firmly. Jedite laughed. �Remind me to bow to you, your highness!� mocked Jedite. Then he sent a gust of wind and blew the Scouts away. He laughed and disappeared. Serenity frowned. �Come Scouts, let's return to the palace,� she said sadly. �What are you going to do?� asked Venus and Mercury. �Break a heart,� she replied. At the palace Raye was awakened by Jupiter. �What is it?� she asked sleepily. �Serenity wants to talk to you,� she replied. Raye slowly got out of bed. She got dressed in a tank top and pants. Raye slowly walked downstairs. Rini awoke and saw Raye and Jupiter walk down stairs. She crept down behind them. The Scouts stood next to Serenity and Endymion. �Serenity, what's up?� she asked. Serenity looked sadly at Raye. �Raye, who was that man with you and Rini?� asked Serenity. Raye raised her eyebrow. This is why I�m up? she thought, getting annoyed. "His name is Jed and he�s a very nice person,� said Raye. �I�m sorry Raye,� said Serenity. �What?� said Raye. �His name is Jedite... remember we defeated him a long time ago?�said Serenity. Raye laughed. �You're joking, right?� said Raye. �I�m sorry Raye, but we followed him and he would of killed you...we saw him,� said Endymion. Raye backed away. �You're lying!" Tears began to fall down Raye�s cheek. �You're lying to me... I don�t believe you!� shouted Raye. Raye then ran out of the palace crying. �I�ll go after her,� said Mercury. �No, don�t,� ordered Endymion. From outside the hallway Rini saw Raye run away. Rini tiptoed out of the palace and ran after Raye. Then the clock rang for midnight. Episode 4: Tell Me You Love Me Raye sat out in the garden listening to the clock. One. Two. Three. Her heart cracked. Four. Five. Six. The tears streamed down Raye�s cheek. Eight. Nine. Ten. Raye crumpled a flower in her hand letting the thorns pry through her skin. Eleven. Twelve. Broken, her heart was broken. Rini ran outside. She heard Raye crying from the corner of the garden. �Raye?� said Rini. Raye looked up at Rini. Rini sat down next to Raye. �Raye, don�t be sad,� said Rini. �But what if they�re true?� said Raye. �Raye, I think Jedite likes you... he didn�t hurt you or anything,� said Rini. Raye wiped her tears. �If he really likes you he won�t hurt you and I think you should see him." �You think so?� asked Raye. Rini nodded. Raye got up and began to run, but stopped. �Rini, when did you become an expert with guys?� she asked. �I guess when I went back to the past I sort of caught on to Mina's boy crazy ways,� said Rini. Raye smiled and ran off. Raye ran down the street. All she could think about was what Rini had said. She ran into the apartment. Up the elevator to the seventh floor. She came to Jedite�s room. She stood outside for a minute. Then she gathered all her courage and knocked. Jedite opened the door. He was surprised to see Raye. �Hi Raye� said Jedite. �Come on in." Raye walked in and sat on the couch. �Did I wake you up?� she asked. "No, I couldn't sleep," he replied. Jedite sat down next to her. His flute was on the table. "Were you playing?� she asked. �Sort of, I was thinking of how to finish the song I�m writing,� he replied. The two sat silently for a while. �Is there anything wrong?� he asked. �No,� she replied sadly. Jedite raised his eyebrow. �Yes, there is something wrong." she finally confessed. "What?� asked Jedite. �What is it?� He stood up. Raye ran into his arms crying. �Is it true...are you really Jedite?� she asked. Jedite let go of Raye. �Yes, I�m sorry,� he said. �Why are you back... to get revenge?� she said. "Maybe," he replied. Raye bit her lip and grabbed her transformation pen. �If you want to fight I will fight you,� said Raye. �It doesn�t bother me,� he said. �Just tell me one thing,� she said. �What?� he asked. �Did you ever love me?� Jedite didn�t answer her. Raye frowned. Then Raye turned to leave. As Raye reached for the doorknob Jedite grabbed her arm and spun her. Raye turned around and gripped her pen. Jedite stared into her purple eyes. Raye stared into his blue eyes. Then Jedite kissed her. Raye's grip on her pen loosened and it fell to the ground. Author's note: Hello it�s me, Princess Rei!_!
