Entry Seventy-One -

Whoa, This Feels . . . Odd

How does everyone like my pronoun "this" in the title above? Isn't that catchy . .. I bet you're all wondering what "this" is. Well, I'll give you a clue. I was home all day today, with the exception of the few times I walked outside, and when I drove my friend home.

No school.

El Molino cancelled for some reason I didn't really quite understand - it's possible that they smartened up and realized that there's a huge arctic storm front due, and then cancelled school.

The Lady (referring to Lady Luck of course) wasn't on my side though, because I really wanted to go to school today for several reasons - first of all, I'd planned to study after school with my friend Alysia for the math test tomorrow, and I want to get a high mark on it. But truthfully, even though I want a high mark, I've reached a point of indifference. I've decided my ability to take tests is decent, but that I get stressed out when I think about the test too much. My solution: don't think about the test, just consider it like doing a chapter review that's worth a few more "brownie points" or something.

Lady Luck was being mean all day today, at least on school terms. I looked for my math book to study from, and found that I'd left it at school because I don't have math on Thursdays, and had planned simply to bring it home after school.

Despite the wishes of The Lady however, Alysia called me mid-day and we were able to arrange that she come over around 1:00 or so, and we studied for a couple of hours. Prior to that however, my friend Adam and I started a game of Diplomacy. We were playing for a few "years" worth in that game, but sadly his road started to flood and his mom came to pick him up so he could get home.

I've lost 6 consecutive ladder games on Starcraft, which tells me that today isn't really a gaming day. That's alright though, because I had a day where I won 25 in a row once, which was pretty sweet, so I figure we all have good days and bad days. Today was just a bad gaming day.

Moving back to the idea of The Lady, I was planning on asking (nameless) for her phone number today, and possibly going on a date sometime over the break. Ah well, my luck is like frozen fire - it contradicts itself and is oxymoronic. Maybe just moronic, not oxymoronic. Oh well.

Hey! I have the Christmas lights in my room on, and they're pretty! I like them very much! And guess what else? I got my bike back from the shop today! I now have a full 15 gears on my 15 gear bike, instead of operating on a solid two. Only problem is that we are having difficulties locating the lock, however I have a pretty good idea where it is (the trunk of my Dad's car). We'll find out soon enough.

I wasn't able to read hardly anything in Magisterial Lodi (The Glass Bead Game, which I recently learned had two names), however I learned quite a few new helpful phrases in korean, which makes me happy. They're useful . . .

By the way, I was talking to my friend Yang about an incident in South Korea which was pretty frustrating. He said that a USA tank ran over two Korean school girls, 15 and 16, and refused to make an apology. The news in the United States said they were hit by a driver, said nothing of George Bush's refusal to make an apology, and failed to mention that many people in Korea are outraged because of this. I'm not surprised for the complaints . . . I know how it is when people die locally, and South Korea has a huge community aspect, so I'm sure word broke out like a wildfire.

I can think of many things that relate to wildfires.

Tonight's the last night I try taking minocyclin for this foliculitis stuff. I'm going to be free of these blasted antibiotics for awhile, and see if they are actually even making a difference. Only problem is if I stop, there's the possibility that I will be in dire, itchy, hellacious pain due to an outbreak from getting off the pill and the virus taking back over. Yup, that'd suck.

Either way, I'm still the happy panda.

Take care my friends.
