Entry Thirty-Three -

59 Seconds and 9 Deuces

Today was consumed by tennis mayhem. My ankle is causing me quite a bit of pain for some reason, I think I stepped wrong while playing tennis or something. Anyway, today is basically going to be a summary of my cool day, so for those of you who like analyzing this entry should probably be skipped. Although, I may end up talking about All Quiet on the Western Front a bit at the end of this entry, because I've got a test on it Thursday, so I need to prepare and gather my thoughts. That's one thing about me - if I really want something to go awesome I'll start planning it the week before, so I can concentrate on it all week. I think things get better in my sleep, because I'll wake up understanding the homework from last night, or being five times better at a piano lick than I was the morning before. Go figure.

Left for tennis around 12:00, it's a nice midday time. We decided we were going to play for three hours. When I say we, I mean Matt L., James B., and myself. Since we've all played each other for the last few weekends and what not, we're getting fairly well balanced. We played around 1on2 for awhile, due to the fact that there were only three of us, then we decided to go see if Miguel was around so we could have a fourth player and play some doubles. He drove into the drive way as we were walking, (Ann and Carol gave him a ride home), and we waved and stuff then took off because Miguel was too tired to play supposedly. Carol is pretty neat, she's got my favorite color in her hair too. I don't really know Miguel, Ann, or Carol that well, but they seem like fairly nice people. Maybe some of you agree with me, maybe not.

After Miguel said no, we all walked back to the tennis courts for a few matches. I lost once of the four matches. One of the four matches lasted about 45 minutes, it was fun, but strenuous. Some of you may be wondering, "how the hell did you manage to get a 45 minute tennis game?!". Well, James returns quite nicely on average, and I serve quite nicely on average, so we kept rotating between "Add In", "Add Out", and "Deuce". That lasted quite a long time, and it was getting to the point where our arms were hurting, so James gave up. To the victor go the spoils, I was first to the drinking fountain.

Post gulping water, we decided to go sit down by a bench near the track as we tend to do. Matt and I decided to test our running skills and do a little bit of sprinting. I finished my first lap in 59 seconds, which isn't slow, but it isn't exactly speedy either. I slowed down to a jog at the end, because I'd broken into a sprint too quickly and was starting to breathe too fast. It's always good to be careful. I don't know how I can run as fast or as long as I can, I don't do all that much cardiovascular exercise. Maybe I'm a partial masochist and I just don't feel the pain while it's happening to me (joke).

Well, after today I feel a bit more physically fit, but in a way I feel like it was a waste mentally. I haven't really done any studying yet, but I guess the night is still young. My parents are off getting flu shots or something, so the house is nice and tranquil. Not that it isn't tranquil while they're there of course, but sometimes it's nice to just relax. Thinking of my parents, I have to go set the table and do some other things like "push 'em ups!" as Mr. D. would call them.

I'll finish All Quiet on the Western Front, or at least most of it, tonight after my dinner. I'll probably start on The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan shortly after, then review some Algebra II. I swear, my mind is thinking in x's and y's, if I see another variable I'm going to need a hug.

Planning for tomorrow: Study for Algebra II and English II tests, go to the weight room after school, improve my social life, and work on drawing girls' lips in anime!

Stay fit, and have a nice day my friends.
