Entry Twenty-Five -

Pass the Kleenex Please

Finally, a quiet afternoon of relaxation. I need it, I'm getting over a cold. I've been "go go go" for the past few days, and it's taking effect on me. Friday night of course was the awesome swing dancing - I danced with a few pretty neat people. One of which was a really sweet old lady dancing 40s swing, and she showed me like 6 new moves. The other cool person was a homosexual follow (dancer who takes commands instead of gives them), who was actually fairly talented. I'm not homophobic, however I just don't "swing that way". Also danced with a girl named Carol, she's very nice, and she's got my favorite color of blue in her hair. There weren't many follows Friday though, so that was a bit of a disappointment. I'm learning though, and I'm loving it.

Saturday, my Mom's birthday, was awesome. We went to an Egyptian Museum of Art or something like that in San Francisco - we being my Father, Jon and Sherri (friends of the family), and myself. It was pretty interesting, but it was highly overrated. I enjoyed it until my cold started kicking my ass, so I went in search of the bathing for toilet paper and the museum bouncer-style manager told me to use the public restrooms for some reason, so I ended up walking around the Legion of Honour, which is roughly a half-mile walk. By the time I got there, the second bouncer told me I had the wrong side of the building, and then as I was telling him my story some lady handed me a Kleenex. Guess "normal" people aren't such jerks after all. I probably thanked her a thousand times. After this episode, I walked back to the right side of the building, and then my cold was kicking my ass again, so Jon gave me half of his handkerchief, and the other half went to my Dad. We ripped it in half. Whoops, I went into talking about my cold in the description of my Mom's birthday! Aiy, anyway, we went out to dinner at the Outback Steakhouse - they have really good service there, we haven't ever been disappointed there. It's wonderful, I recommend it. I decorated up late at night like I said I would, and I was tired, but I'm pretty sure my Mom appreciated everything.

Today was pretty fun as well, but once again my cold is kicking my ass. Started out by sleeping in, waking up, and reading a good chunk of All Quiet on the Western Front. Three words: Damned good book. If anyone didn't enjoy it, then they probably didn't leisurely read it. Some people just don't like war novels, and I understand that, but this book has a lot to tell. For example, nature is illustrated so majestically, and the idea of the power in uniforms is brought forward so well. Praise the Germans, this was their second accomplishment. The first was the Volkswagen. (Jest)

After my adventures in the realm of AQWF, I ventured off to the hellacious zone called High School to play tennis with some friends. I love tennis. My serves have definitely improved, as well as my forearm strength. Too bad my backhand sucks, I'm going to have to work on that.

Got home around 2:30 and I've been reading and recuperating from this darned cold ever since. Wait, I did some stuff outside earlier too, but other than that I've been corresponding to business and other matters - for example, the job that school just might pull through!

I'm going to go heal now.

Take care my friends!
