Entry One-Hundred Forty-Four

It Gets Easier Day By Day

5:49, damn I'm getting sexy. Hehe, that was a joke, but it felt good to say. I finished in second place on the El Molino JV, but 12th place in the meet. There were a lot more people running this time. I managed to pass Miguel, and in the last 150 meters I sprinted by Chris at god-like speed, which I must have pulled out of that peanut butter and jelly sandwich I ate in 5th period.

I've decided to leave Jenna alone. If she has something nice to say, she'll say it, but I want nothing to do with a girl whom tells me, "Why should I care?".

My cousin Alan and I have been playing chess online. It's been pretty fun to have a decent opponent for once - I'm something like 63 and 0 in the library at my school. Alan hasn't beaten me recently, but before I trained against my computer for 6 months he was a really good challenge. I've learned some cool chess tactics and techniques. Time is a teacher, and I'm president of the El Molino Chess Club. Wee.

I got an A on my math test. It was pretty cool, because I finally got a higher score than Alysia. Gloating was required. We both laughed about it, and I did a happy victory dance.

Well, Mardi Gras is on Friday . . . I convinced my friend Jon Teeter to go to it. He needs a ride though, so he'll end up coming to my house and spending the night after the Mardi Gras, then I'll just give him a ride in the morning to the bus circle and we'll both take off for the Ukiah track meet. Fun fun.

I'm still playing my game of cards. I won't reveal too much at once. I won't bluff. I'll start taking life a lot like I run the mile - one step at a time, always getting better.
