Entry One-Hundred Four -

Shoes from the Land of Nod

Entering Thought:

It can be frustrating when one goes shopping for shoes. Today was shopping for shoes . . . ALL DAY.

First of all, the day started at 8:25 this morning. I had gone to bed around 1:00 last night . . . Trust me, I didn't want to wake up so early. Thank my father . . . he can be loud in the morning. To move on though, we decided that we'd go shoe shopping after I finished my 10:00 World Gaming Tour match vs a Yugoslavian. It was an hour and 37 minute match, which would have been a draw if I didn't play like it was 10:00 in the morning (smile). Oh well, win some and lose some. I learned from my stupidity, and that's worth twice as much as a win, at least.

So, we took off for town - I was powered by my mighty bowl of frosted flakes. I suppose it was interesting to begin with . . . started off at Ross. That was store one. The selection was really over picked. It was a foreshadowing of the rest of the day.

Store two-seven were located in the mall. I don't need to go into detail.

Store eight-eleven were all outside the mall: dance gear, men's warehouse, sportsmart . . .

It's ridiculous, we couldn't find a single pair of 11.5 shoes that fit me properly. All these new "style" designs are throwing off the real quality of the shoe industry. I've seen countless reports and studies done on how shoes and shoe styles reflect the culture they came from - one of these reports was done in our very own El Molino Integrated Humanities English program . . . suffice to say, the report was a good report, and it taught me a lot about what the course was: what it is to be human.

That's a good thought . . .

How many of you could put into words "What it is to be human."

I think that humans are the creations of a being that wanted to witness expression. Expression in thousands of different forms - love, lust, hate, disgust, disdain, Bob getting angry at shoes stores and wanting to inflict harm rays upon every shoe owner in the galaxy for buying size 11-12 shoes, the relationships between people and animals (thought of this one because my bird is sitting on my knee doing little spins to the song "Crawling in the Dark" by Hoobastank - she's a cute one . . .

That was all pretty stream of conscious, but I think it's easy to understand where I'm coming from. It's been a long day. I didn't even have a chance to work on my website here . . . I left early, and now it's nearly sun down. I suppose I could work on the site for a little while, and I probably will - but I want to have a friend over (to remain anonymous) when I do the frames - (Hi Adam) - because he knows how to do it much better than I do. After I see it once, I usually understand it, and know how to do it for the rest of my life . . . funny how that works.

I've been enjoying talking to my J.C. friends a lot lately. Amanda is a really nice girl - she's been neat to talk to lately.

Merlin is a really nice guy. It's funny . . . he joined the Clan ~SC~ today. I'm honored to have him as a member.

I have good friends.

Someone needs to tell me if it's wrong to tell your friends they look pretty - if it's a misconceived thing. I've been raised with the ability to tell someone they look nice that evening and not have any sort of attraction to them on any emotional level, and yet it seems as though emotions are becoming the basis of human expression. What should I do with my chivalry? The "nice guys finish last" rule seems to be applying more and more in the world today. That's too bad though . . . I'm going to be a nice guy until my dying day. Love me for me. I don't want to hurt anyone.

Take care my friends.

*I feel like this was a weird entry . . . Dé-Já Vu or something like that.*
