Venus is often thought of
as a 'lazy' planet, although contacts it receives from other planets can
energize it somewhat. In its efforts to find balance, Venus can even resort
to violence or coercion, so is far from the 'lightweight' planet many
would have you believe. Venus wants to be cherished and adored, and, in
a man's chart, indicates how he may come to terms with the feminine side
of his nature. [My thoughts: Skip this, it's bull, read below :)]
Venus-Mars contacts in a natal chart are important in judging the individual's
attitudes towards romance, love and sex.
Let's take a brief look at how the Venus energies are expressed through
the various zodiac signs, and then through the houses:
Venus Through The
Signs
Venus in Aries: Passionate, sex is important, falls in
and out of love quickly. Sometimes selfish towards loved one. "Enterprising"
approach to money, but not necessarily very good management of it. [Hear
that? Passion and sex!]
Venus in Taurus: Sensual, romantic, love of the good
life. Possessive tendencies can cause problems. Material possessions,
the more luxurious the better, are important. [More
sex . . .]
Venus in Gemini: Friendship and mental rapport important
in relationships. Flirtatious, fickle. Flair for money making schemes.
[Hmmm, flirtatious with the twins]
Venus in Cancer: Romantic, kind, sympathetic, protective
towards self and loved ones. Nostalgic, moody, faithful. Likely to lavish
money on domestic surroundings in preference to anything else. [Everything
but the money sounded pleasing]
Venus in Leo: Fiery, passionate, loyal, faithful. Fulfilling
sex life, appreciation of luxury. Desire for lots of money to fund extravagant
lifestyle. [Fire, passion, sounds good . .
.]
Venus in Virgo: Modest, shy, tendency to nag partners.
Pessimism about financial situation. Can be charming and unassuming. [Modesty,
pessimism, shyness? Righhht...]
Venus in Libra: Romantic, idealistic, unrealistic about
love. In love with love. Dislike of being alone. Laziness and indecision
can lead to financial problems, and money could be used to buy affection.
[The loneliness thing was true]
Venus in Scorpio: Sexually passionate, very possessive
and jealous. Resentful. Flair for investment and financial management.
[Jealousy, resentment, sex . . .]
Venus in Sagittarius: Lively, exuberant partner, who
needs intellectual stimulation in addition to physical love. Laid back
attitude towards money, can wound a partner with lack of tact. [I
liked the whole intellectual addition!]
Venus in Capricorn: Faithful and loyal, but takes a while
to commit to a relationship. May choose partner for status or marry for
wealth. Finances managed carefully, with calculated risks. [Commitment
is everything . . .]
Venus in Aquarius: Can appear emotionally distant and
cool, and intellectual rapport is more important than sex. Generally good
with money, but has a weakness for 'gadgets'! [A
weakness for gadgets, eh?! I like gizmos too.]
Venus in Pisces: Sensitive, romantic, idealistic, easily
hurt. Very emotional and sentimental, can smother a partner. Gullible
and easily deceived financially, also prone to deceiving either self or
partner. [Emotion, sentiment, gullibility
. . . I like it.]
Venus Through The
Houses: [This is interesting, but I don't really understand
the concept of houses. I'll get back to you all on this.]
Venus in 1st House: Charming, sociable, wears heart on sleeve. May be
lazy, or spoilt.
Venus in 2nd House: Very materialistic and security-seeking. Possessive
of things and people, although generous too.
Venus in 3rd House: Social interaction important, communication skills
are kind and sympathetic.
Venus in 4th House: Very attached to home and home-life. Also very fond
of children.
Venus in 5th House: Love of art, and creative streak present in this individual.
Gambling instinct, both in money and love.
Venus in 6th House: Love of food and drink, leading to possible weight
problems. Procrastination can be an issue.
Venus in 7th House: Need for partner, pure attitude towards love and romance.
Desire to keep the peace at all costs.
Venus in 8th House: Jealousy and resentfulness, especially in the sex
life. Intuitive insight and good business sense.
Venus in 9th House: Need for travel and expanding intellectual horizons.
Relaxed morals and philosophy.
Venus in 10th House: Needs an emotional attachment to career. Possibly
lazy and not exploiting full potential. Idealistic aspirations.
Venus in 11th House: Excellent social life. Flair for organizing social
events, and for counseling friends in need.
Venus in 12th House: Shyness and inhibitions regarding sex. Wants the
unobtainable. Duty and vocation are strong, as is the spiritual dimension
of the personality.
